    MY top 6 criteria :

    6) It has a flavour that I like – or that doesn’t jar culturally.
    5) It has easy global payment methods for customers and affiliates.
    4) It has a good range of games that flow easily on the eye.
    3) The customer, affiliate support works well and in a polite, personal manner.
    2) They offer 30%-35% straight away.
    1) They are 100% rock solid with a spotless reputation.
    :satisfied

The tricky thing for new entrants that they cannot get #1 easily. It takes time and money to build that reputation.

Intestingly – the things that you’ve mentioned content / custom banners / bonuses don’t rate at all. It’s all eye-candy that has little real worth. I’m not really interested too much in using content and graphics that will quickly be the same at 1000’s of websites.

If I like your site – then I’ll preview it, review it (warts and all), promote it, and create the content around it. You want us to cover you – then work on having a good product and great service.

That’s the best thing an affiliate manager can focus on.

I LOVED the i-slots idea, perfect timing really, as I’m currently myself playing a story line davicni code game (free waste of time ;) ) .. and I’m hooked, so it didn’t take long for the $$’s to appear in my eyes.

So someone ordered reviews.. hmm I’m not the only one interested.. So for him, and for me, I email.. no responce… I email again.. This time, immidiate responce, but sorry wait till later for info..

I gotta say, the excitement wears off while waiting ;)

You need to streamline your signup process. I’m trying to sign up through a multi-tier chain at GPWA, and it seems that each person that signs up has to wait a couple weeks or more before they are approved. It takes so long that they forget to post a link when they get it. A lot of affiliate programs approve you automatically.

Some great words of advice Gooner … thanks for the feedback. I’ll be sure to keep it in my back pocket.

With respect to your comment about becoming number one … I totally agree that it’s a building process that takes time and patience.

    Awesome input … thanks again!

The “hooked” part is the great thing about the i-Slots LadyH … great point. And we’re currently putting together a whack of content and other marketing material which we’ll provide to everyone over the next few weeks.

I admit it’s taking a little time to pull everything together, but I assure you it’s for a good reason. I’m sure we’ve all learned the hard way at least once in our lives, that rushing things won’t get us any further ahead – I’d rather take the time to do it right the first time in order to eliminate any hassles in the end as I’m sure you’d agree.

We’ll be in touch with the “good stuff” soon … I promise!

Thanks for your comments, I appreciate it.

I agree 100% Kidd … the more streamline the sign-up process, the more likely somebody will sign up for your program because of the little hassle involved.

With that being said, you also have to be a little suspicious of some affiliate programs who approve you right away IMO, because if they approved you immediately … is there really an application process in place? With our particular program, we at least review the application thoroughly and contact the applicants with questions prior to approval – If this is considered a hassle, I think it’s worth it because ALL affiliates in your network are promoting the same products. If you have a couple of bad apples in the bunch, it makes the rest of the “team” look bad, so actually taking the time to approve the proper affiliates is very important. If you have even just one affiliate promoting the same product that you’re promoting in a negative context, it can and will reflect poorly on you and your efforts indirectly.

Great point though … and I agree that a few weeks to wait for approval is a little lengthy, however I also feel strongly that hasty application approvals might quickly prove to be counterproductive.
