InactiveHi Professor,
I like this poll, and have found myself checking it 3 4 5 times a day. We are awaiting the responses to go ahead and make more flash banners. Which will turn out even better than the last ones.
Thanks for the great poll

InactiveI’ve been hesitant to use Flash banners provided by most programs, because they don’t fit well in my tracking scheme. Generally, they seem to have the URL information embedded in the Flash code, meaning I can’t redirect the click through my server-side tracking mechanisms.
If I can’t see clickthroughs on my side, it’s a problem. Is there any standard for providing a clickthrough URL via a data file in the same web document directory?
Does this already happen, and I’m just not up to speed on it?

InactiveI don’t like not being able to track it either… on the other hand, if it brings more players, I’m all for it.
We are using one of the banners. Clickthroughs were/are tremendous according to the stats I’ve seen – but registrations haven’t increased

InactiveI tend to stay away from flash banners in case my traffic doesn’t have flash installed all ready. I tend to believe they’ll leave rather than install the necessary software.
Mind you i do think they would be a great addition to pages with free flash games.

InactiveThis poll is too loaded towards flash banners being good … didnt see any “flash sucks I dont use it” or “no- asking visitors to load software scares them away”
Antoine is correct – I would rather stick with a nicely designed ani-gif they can be easily tracked, and users do not have to have any addon software installed to see them.
As Spearmaster has noticed – the “pretty” banners may attrack a few additional hits, but the conversions are apparently no better.

InactiveConversions may or may not be better depending on the particular circumstances. In our case, I suspect most of our regulars are already signed up, and/or that the casino website just doesn’t convert what we send, for whatever reason.
I am a fan of Flash under limited-use circumstances as well. I doubt we would carry more than a max of 2 anywhere on the site, and 1 is probably enough. If the size is too big we wouldn’t accept it either.
There are always situations where the Flash banner will convert far better than the ordinary banners – so each webmaster has to really take a lot of things into consideration.

InactivePersonally I think moving banners in general flash or not are ineffective for me at least and my objectives…..and I have found that they perform far worse then my other methods of adverts thus far!
