The only way we will ever prove shaving is for a program or one of its current/former manager(s) to come out and admit that they shave and we all know that’s never going to happen.

If by chance an affiliate happens to notice discrepancies you can bet your last dollar that the program(s) will have a dozen or more ready made explanations to excuse them away. Seen it dozens upon dozens of times!

Additionally, based on what I’ve witnessed in the past, if/when someone speaks out about discrepancies or suspicion of shaving you can all but plan on being attacked by the programs shill squad eg, those who are getting paid by the offending program and are looking to publicly show support so that they might extend their streak of well-being with said-program.

Its really up to communities like this, to stop putting their own income ahead of the well-being of the community as a whole and to take a stand against unethical programs! Unfortunately I am not aware of one affiliate based community in this industry that currently does that.

You make a very important point here, arkyt.

The only way for this to occur is for the affiliate-based community to monetize its traffic through a sub-affiliate model. It’s something we are exploring more and more of and this would put us, for example, directly in the same position as the said affiliate we put in front of any program because if they get shaved, so do we.

    Do you agree?
