InactiveAgreed – Ban – They just devalue the section and are ultimately pointless

jackybetMemberAnother warning, people from India and all around the world are buying dropped none gaming related domains that appear to have a pr value and are turning them into gaming type sites. Google specifically has mentioned these type of sites will be d evaluated and the pr value will not stick.

dofopokerMemberI think that if they are trying to scam us they should be banned! Some people wont know this, however, so you probably have to do some sort of 2 strike thing, where 1st time is a warning, and 2nd time is lifetime ip ban.

InactiveI agree, they should be banned.
But there need to be some guidelines, so we don’t catch any innocents in the net… I would assume there are some newbies who might try to recover hosting fees or such by selling cheap links when getting started?
So, what would be the criteria for this? Is there some program that ascertains link value?

jackybetMemberThis is the #1 reason why I have never clicked that “ban button”… It really is a gray area on what could be or should be ethical when doing so. Obviously if someone is flat out trying to scam someone I would have no problem clicking that button however if it’s “gray line” I would rather bring it up to the moderator/Advisory Committee and get your feedback on the situation. I’m not a real big fan of banning anyone unless they are a danger to the members. I have setup some simple guidelines in which we would like to see the members follow for protection and some “Do Not’s…”
Currently I’m in the process of trying to get someone to do what was paid for months ago however I understand if he was voted off to be banned the chance on this guy getting his money back or service is slim. I’m not sure how far a person can dispute on paypal as I have never had a dispute.
I know I have been bored, But this is a bigger job then one could possibly fathom. Disputes, Documentation, and personal opinions must be neutral in all disputes.

don’t make upfront 100% payments until the work is done – the link is placed, the blogpost is created. -
