InactiveI don’t have any employees, but have a number of independent contractors who do work for me.
Personally, I give my access to no one. If you don’t want to gather creatives yourself, ask the programs if you can open a second account, let them go in there to pick up stuff, and then have them alter the tags to match your primary account. That way only you can see your stats or change your personal info etc. Personally, since I do sales etc. I want to pick the creatives myself and am not handing that off.
I pay different people differently – usually they start out being paid by the job, and as I learn to like the work, they move into more responsible positions and I eventually figure they will be working x hours a week and pay a steady sum. People like that better – something to count on.
I also like giving bonuses when we have great months, or if someone does an outstanding job or something.
Deciding what you want to contract out and what you want to do yourself depends a lot on what your strenghts are. Keep doing what you are best at, and contract out the rest.

InactiveThanks Dominique that info really helps!
By the way, gamesandcasino looks great, love the design, especially the inside pages with that template, very attractive!

InactiveThanks. I keep playing with the thought of redesign so the site will cover the screen, but it would ruin the entire layout concept and I am continuing to struggle with the idea.
Glad you like it – I look at it so much I don’t know anymore.

InactiveDom,
Your site’s fine–leave it alone!

Also, I’ve also been meaning to ask you: You have people (independent contractors) who do a very good job for you and it sounds as if you treat them very well. But WHY would these people who are skilled at SEO want to do this work for you, when they could build their own websites and keep all of the commissions they earn, themselves?
Just something I have always been curious about, not just from you but from others who hire contractors or who employ staff to develop and update their sites.
Thanks!

InactiveGood question, I’m sure some people would start their own websites after gaining the knowledge they need.
You see it in every day life, waitress quits and opens her own restaurant, pizza cook opens his own pizza shop, so I guess a web designer could branch out in their own website.
I guess its all about helping people, and if Dom or anybody else can pass knowledge on to make someone elses life better that would be great!

InactiveSome people who work under contract do start their own sites, some people already have their own sites. Some are even in the gambling field.
Many people don’t care to work for corporations or big companies. Nor are they ready for the fluctuations of income while building up a site of their own.
If you work as an independent contractor you have freedom. You pick when you work, how you work (butt naked if you like), where you work and how many hours in a stretch you work. Generally you are free to pursue other activities, like going back to school for a degree, building your own sites etc.
I don’t just contract SEO work out but lots of writing and updating and such.
Lots of people like the freedom of doing contract work out of their own homes.

InactiveExample 1.. I have my own sites, and do alot of odd things for CAP members for extra cash :clapper: I get a pm every couple of days asking if I’m interested in this or that, I do some writing, some linking, I organize and keep track of a webmaster’s aff accounts, I respond to [email protected] for another member.. and I run my two sites! It’s great!
Example 2. . . My friend has a website, and makes awesome graffix, and I refered a couple CAP folks to him.. He doesnt gamble, knows nothing about it, and doesnt care to, but makes great graffix
His website brand spankin new (like a few weeks old!) it is just his own personal art display.. but it looks great ppl here like it so they hire him. -
