You will have such fun – I always enjoy London, and Noel rocks! You couldn’y wish for a better host.

Take a stroll through Kensington Gardens for me. And drink the Stout – all the beer is relatively warm, and with the Stout it really adds to the flavor.

Also try to eat at a decent Indian restaurant – London has some excellent Indian food.

Nice one Captain – welcome to London :) Its a tad cold at the moment though and very overcast so be warned! Best Indians are in Brick Lane, but probably more convenient are the ones in Soho and they are generally quite good too.

One thing you MUST do while you are here is the “Original Bus Tour” – its an open-topped bus tour taking in all the major points of the city with a hop-on-hop-off ticket. It’s well worth it I promise. Best place to get it from is between Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus in the West End. You just turn up atthe bus stop (which are all clearly labelled as “The Original Tour”) and buy a ticket – or family ticket probably in your case!

Tower of London is well worth a visit too. Those are the two things i’d best recommend. The London Eye is very good too.

    Cheers

    Simmo!

PS. You have a very nice place over there by the way…I’m jealous :-/

    Thanks Dave and Simmo.

    Hey Simmo,
I went clothes shopping yesterday to cover the weather there in London. This will be the first time in London for the family and I. We are very excited and looking forward to seeing the sights. The family and I will be staying at Corus Hotel Hyde Park http://www.londonnights.com/london-hotels-corus-hotel-hyde-park.htm

Good place to stay location-wise Captain. You can walk up to Oxford St., visit the bird sanctuary in Kensington Gardens and see Kensington Palace. Not far from Harrods either.

I’m actually up on Oxford St. myself on Friday afternoon but not too sure what my movements are yet (meetings). Still, i could PM you my cell no. and if we both found ourselves strolling around, we could hook up for a coffee or something. Incidentally, did you know AD:TECH is on at Olympia on Wed & Thurs? Several of the affiliate programs are there, as will i be on Wed. Not that you’ll have the time or inclination :)

    Hey Simmo,
Yes, it would be great to meet in London. Please pm me your cell number. As far as going to Ad Tech Ihad not planned on it. Anything is possible once we arrive. Of course we will be meeting up with Noel September 28th evening possibly for dinner.

    Off the beaten track..

    1) Can escort you to a real football match.

Overpriced tea, hot enough to strip the plastic off your passport. Overpriced pies at half time.. 1 round ball, 1 referee.

    2) Good for a laugh would be an English casino, compared to a Vegas casino :) Simmo will have to take you, I steer well clear.

    3) Greyhound meeting or horseracing, get Jackpot Joy to take you. I think the nearest to where you are at Hyde Park would be Wimbledon Dogs. Horses would be Kempton.

I guess your daughter likes gambling, 2 and 3 she would like more than freezing outside Buckingham Palace for half an evening.. 1 is not so disimilar heheh.

    imo

Drink massive quantities of English Beer Captain. Its MUCH better then the piss they serve us here in the states. Just be careful with how many pints you down, the alcohol level in real beer is higher there too.

    Hey Everyone,
The Captain and crew are back from London. The family and I thank Noel http://www.jackpotjoy.com for the great trip. It was great seeing Noel and Chris in London. Just wished we would have had more time. I will be posting pictures later on as soon as I get caught up. If you have not been to London, I reccommend you go sometime. Just allow 3 weeks and plenty of money. The family and I will be going again in the future to see more of London and England. Thanks again Noel for the great trip.
