vladcizsolMemberAntoine went to bat for you…
To be totally honest I was shocked and very disapointed to hear all this too. We have been very cordial towards GPWA and even had Michael speak at CAP Euro. I dont know what to make of this, but its probably best to leave this as water under bridge and move on. :unhappy:

InactiveOh well.
I can’t think of a better member to have in a community of this type than BB1. Lots of GPWA people post here regularly and we are keeping the doors open. In times such as these, we all need to stick together as best we can.

GuestHi again all,
thanks so much for the kind words. they really do warm my heart.
rather than single anbody out: I just want to say that it doesn’t go unnoticed and is greatly appreciated.
thank you again so much.

yes Prof, please let this just pass. Last thing I want is any ill feelings caused on my behalf. I’m so very happy here … hindsight has me asking why I bothered to ask for re-instatement in the first place but the quick answer is that there are a few who haven’t migrated yet that I still very much value as friends. I had even hoped to patch things up with Cindy but in the same breath; I can live a long happy time without her as well.

Reading these posts is very distressing to me.
Especially since there is overwhelming support for your being given access to the private GPWA forums, so you will be readmitted as a private member. Your comment about “not getting in there” is simply not the case.
It is true that one person raised a question in the forums about admission of someone who has strong ties with CAP. My response was this time, as it has always been, that it is important that CAP and GPWA have a cooperative relationship, and so your admission to the private forums should be viewed positively from that perspective.
I’m working very hard to establish strong positive relationships with CAP, including heavily promoting the recent CAP Euro conference in the GPWA Times newsletter. There is absolutely no tolerance within GPWA management for anything but a strong positive relationship with CAP.

:rolleyes:Perhaps you need to state the cooperative relationship in large friendly letters so the readership understands it isn’t a “them or us” choice ..

Gooner,
I think virtually everyone does understand that a good cooperative relationship between the GPWA and CAP is important. I have gotten nothing but strong positive feedback from the membership for adopting that approach. We all share a goal of helping the portal webmaster community, and we do that best by working together.

InactiveThen spell it out onsite that’s the case.
:thumbsup:Because it’s obviously not appreciated by EVERYONE there yet.

In fact, I’ve spelled it out many times, and in the extremely small number of instances where a divergent view has been stated, I have stepped right in and said that such a viewpoint is not acceptable within the GPWA forums since it is so damaging to what we are trying to build.
The old issues between GPWA and CAP are dead. Not everyone in the forums needs to like everyone else, but we have a zero-tolerance policy regarding regarding inappropriate posting.

GuestHi again all,
please let this just pass. CC has made it an obvious statement they are moving past the old situations/scenarios that once may have haunted the GPWA.
I applaud them for that.
as I wrote Steven, for me its not that I don’t appreciate the effort given. Right now I have some health issues brought on by the stress of our current situation in the industry and as such; just wish to avoid conflict.
Frankly if I were to get into GPWA and read something that didn’t feel was deserving .. I’d find myself defending and right now that’s just now what I need.
I am so incredibly sorry I brought any of this up. I so very much appreciate the outstanding and heartwarming statements from friends both here and there .. its just .. words fail me.
Please let this all pass, I will perhaps at a later date maybe ask again at a time when I can just kinda sleek in and not have the conflict i have caused.
It was never my intention. God bless those at GPWA, and you guys know I feel that way about you here at CAP.
Please don’t put my situation which is apparently something between myself and one member at GPWA to cause any further conflict.
That is very much my wish.
Thank you all again for all you’ve done on my behalf. I ask only one thing further which is to let this all get past us; so we can focus on much more important matters.
CC: you’ve been outstanding. I hope you understand my reasons for wishing to avoid possible conflict.
Thank you all again.

InactiveGuys, we don’t know for a fact who said what.
He said she said he said she said always ends up in distortion.
If Michael says he wants to be on friendly terms then that is what we know to be a fact.
If one person voiced objections – have you ever seen a CAP thread where everyone agreed completely all the way through?
It is the nature of message boards to have conflicting opinions, it is actually what makes them great.
What we do know is that BB1 was voted in and is free to come and go as he pleases. And that is totally his decision. If he feels slighted and doesn’t want to go, we respect this just as well as we would respect his choice to go there.
I almost said “it’s a free country” but not so sure of that anymore.

Quote:have you ever seen a CAP thread where everyone agreed completely all the way through?Dom we do discuss things here and thats what the board is here for, but to be honest I never heard a single CAP member object to a GPWA member joining our ranks because they were too close to GPWA. If they did they would be chastised by me (there’s that word again). Thats what struck a sour note with me, but its refreshing to see that Michael is on it and that it was an isolated (and misplaced) opinion.
It’s the weekend so lets all forget about this and get back to our Rum and football. We all have a lot of challenges in the US right now and its best to face them together.
