InactiveText links are more used for keyword rankings………as compared to banner ads.
But in text also, you can have ads which can make you money based on keywords, i have seen few websites which uses advertising within contents and it looks like the contents. but i think these type of ads will have less clicking. The term “banner blindness”, its explained here

poluroud20MemberGood topic – it completely depends on the demographic you are targetting but on the whole I would say that text links convert better than banners.
Banners are great to catch someone’s eye and create a brand but if you are getting players that click on a keyword (text link) within an article, the chances are the player is one who is reading up on a particular operator is one who will spend more money. That’s my opinion and is not always true though.
The best thing to do is have different tracking links/codes for each banner/text link and then monitor the conversion percentages

ZlzmbmaxMemberYup, agree with the above.
You could argue that a player who had clicked through from a text-link is more ‘informed’ and likely to convert as they have almost certainly read the passage of text and been convinced to click the link, as opposed to an ‘impulsive’ reaction to clicking a banner.
Also, think about the amount of advertising we all see on a daily basis – whether it is TV, billboards or even on news sites like the BBC. The average consumer is a lot more savvy these days and is adept at tuning out those message which do no immediately appear to be relevant.
Therefore, ‘relevance‘ is the key. As Chris says, the market you’re chasing is an important consideration. However, many affiliates may find greater success with a text-link embedded in a relevant article, which is SEO optimised so that when they google a subject YOUR pages, with their text-links, appear.
Why not run a comparison test to see what type of market you are currently attracting to your site?

CharlesWFMemberYes agree completely. Text links are much better for clicks in my experience.
If you are giving the reader good quality info within text and helping them to make the decision to click it can work well.
For me that is the difference between banners and text links. Banners are to sell to someone, text links are to help them to find the right place to visit! In my experience you sell more by not selling!

CharlesWFMemberRobert? Think I prefer Bob or bobby or just Rob maybe. Yeah Rob please. Just make sure you get it right when you vote for me in the cap awards
In fact we dont have any banners at all. Some logos, a couple of 120x 60s in certain places.
But I still get affiliate managers sending me mails about their fantastic new banners.
I do think that some programs spend too much time and money on banners as Im not sure too many affiliates are won over by “a great banner” but I expect many are lost by late stats, non or slow return of emails etc.

k29MemberS’ry Richard. lol.
One thing I like about text links is that they are so versatile. You don’t need to just have it in a prose text. Top-10 lists and the like also work well and are text-link based most of the time.
