another example of a ‘trigger happy man’…why is it that i always hear of people shooting to kill, instead of shooting to injure. this includes the police…people are losing it!

I imagine they shoot to kill so they don’t get sued later.

    LOL @ BB1.

I heard that the guy is regretting the fact that he got involved now. He will be on Good Morning America tomorrow.

The jury in this case threw out the part of the law where the neighbor has to “ask” for their property to be protected. That does not sit well with me because last time I checked the jury’s job is to follow the law.

I feel that life is more valuable then property and we need to let the athorities do their job. Plus that is why we have home owners insurance.

Its perfectly legal to shoot to kill if you life or property are being threatened in Texas (and Florida). Its never legal to shoot to maim. That constitutes torture and you will be subject to severe criminal and civil penalties if you do so.

When you apply for a concealed weapons permit in Florida you are taught this during mandatory classes. If you dont legitimately feel like you are under threat you really have no business shooting anyone in the first place.

A neighbors house…no..I would simply call 911. My house? They have a choice of ChowChow or Mr.s Smith & Wesson.

First, i think it’s BS shooting people in the back for stealing stuff. Hell, he didn’t even give them a warning shot.

Second, guns are deadly weapons, you ought never shoot one at a person or animal unless you intend/need to kill it. If lives are not at stake, i’d have to ask, what the hell are you firing off a gun for?
