InactiveThank you for pointing these things out. They are vital to our ability to earn our money.
I run the latest version of IE with all updates and it blocks active X. I can opt to unblock it individually for each application – but it took me a bit to figure out how.
It comes up with a warning first – then I can choose to allow the active x but not in a pop like the warning, I have to go to the taskbar to click on something. It is confusing at first – they should have made it simple.

InactiveI’m very concerned with all the security and browser issues.
I just tried Lucky Nugget Casino. Here is what I found:
- Internet Explorer – Under the latest version running SP2 when you try to download it is blocked. You have to install an ActiveX control in order to be able to download.
- Firefox – Flash version doesn’t work at all. Download version doesn’t work because ActiveX is not for Firefox.
I’m not sure about the exact impact of these issues on players but I feel that promoting this casino can mean a waste of some resources, since I feel that a lot of players will avoid installing the ActiveX control.

InactiveI have bad news. The thing is worse than I thought at first. I tried all Refer Back casinos and all have problems downloading the software. All downloads blocked on IE under SP2, and no mozillas here.
I may understand that for flash they may use some activex control but to download the casino there is no need for all this. Just a simple link to download without activex.
Would like to hear some comments here on this.

Guestgreat find S.
I think first step is to make certain the aff programs are aware of the problems and their extent.
I highly doubt they have any idea of the extent of the problem, and as pointed out; its growing all the time.
even 1 player allowed to slip by is way too much IMHO.
I say this because out of literally 1000s of players signed, I make the majority of my money off 3 – 5 people.
if even one of those slips past; I’ve lost 20% of my income.
That simple!
when you add into the mix the fact that before all this came about; the “expected” % of signups which is not credited to us runs between 5% and 20% – according to a manager at Casino Coins. (some might remember that thread, I don’t recall the guy’s name but there was heated debate and he basically dug his own grave deeper; the more he talked).
folks, thats a hell of a hole in the net.
I’m so glad this was brought up again, I had feared it was just going to get a “look and a shrug” …. so to speak. And its way too important to just take note and then let go.

InactiveHi all –
I encourage people to keep posting what problems they are running into. I wouldn’t have even noticed this problem until I decided to try it on my notebook, which is running XP.
Sure enough – after everything loaded, nothing worked – a left-click on a game, or the connect button – had exactly the effect that a right click had – “settings” “about Macromedia Flash”.
In other words, nothing worked.
I am investigating now but don’t expect answers too quickly – I bet Microgaming are already on the situation and I will try to get updates as I can. But right now the priority lies with making sure the new games that were launched earlier are running smoothly and not causing problems.

InactiveAfter further investigation I found that Playtech, Net Enter, Cryptologic, and Parlay casinos run flash versions on mozilla browsers without a glitch. I have yet to find a Microgaming casino with a working flash version under mozilla-like browsers.
I also found that under IE the probability of having activex problems is higher on microgaming casinos.
If this is true, the technical issues with flash versions, activex, and browsers are not a general issue but only a microgaming issue.

InactiveSharpgambler,
Thanks for the valuabe information. I hope Microgaming fixes this soon! I know if I used a Mozilla browser and wanted to play a flash version I’d be really dissapointed I couldn’t play at Microgmaing casinos.March 2, 2005 at 6:41 pm #662259Anonymous
InactiveYes, thank you Sharpgambler. That is definitely valuable information (like Heather said). Thanks for sharing your findings with everyone!
