InactiveThis is a big trend – bigger than meets the eye. Only a few casino groups have gone public with doing this – I know of several doing this clandestinely.
Some are creating their own portals and some are buying existing ones up.
This is a very worrysome development for affiliates in general. VERY!!!
Perhaps they would like to be ready for the law they fear – perhaps they are just greedy.
I am quite perturbed by this development.

InactiveNote to self:
Add “drop Sunny Group casinos after 1st of the year” to my New Years resolutions.

InactiveAs a discussion point only, do not jump all over me for this, but how do you feel when affiliates open thier own casinos??? just bringing it up as a different point of view and don’t want to ruffle any feathers. But would like to see the debate on this one.
Thanks

InactiveJohn,
Your point is taken.
I really don’t take it personnal when an affiliate program or casino chooses to compete head to head with me by creating portals. Nor do I have any feelings regarding affiliates creating their own casinos. The choices I make depend on how it effects my income, as I am sure are yours.
As an affiliate program or casino you can create a rule in your T&C forbidding your affiliates from owning thier own casinos. I, on the other hand, can only create a personal rule that stops me from doing business with programs that willing compete against me by creating portals, stealing traffic by redirects, shaving, spamming, poor customer service, or their general lack of ethics.

vladcizsolMemberExcellent post Pitboss. I think most affiliates would be in complete agreement with your sentiments. I know I am.

InactiveWell said, Pitboss!
100% agree!December 19, 2003 at 2:00 pm #642771Anonymous
InactiveI agree with Pitboss 100% on this issue. I will not link exchange with any online casino owned portal. That in itself will make their effords useless.

InactiveHeh, this could get me stomped on, too, but hell, I’ll say it anyway.
If you’re a successful affiliate, why do you need more money?
If you’re operating a successful casino program, why do you need more money?
The affiliate is generally an individual.
A casino is generally a corportation.
Generally speaking a large corportations only goal is to get larger and larger. (more & more)
Generally speaking I think most affiliates simply want a decent life.
There is no reason for either party to dirty either parties pool.
The right to do so is there, but it’s rude. If all we have to deal with is each other, why not treat each other well?
(not trying to speak for everyone!)
