InactiveLOL – i was thinking a very similar thing. I was about to create a page of text for people to copy and paste onto their sites.
An option: register a new domain specifically (IE: http://www.affiliate-terms-that-suck.com) and get affiliates to link to it, thus pushing it up SERPS for more people to see!
Simmo!

vladcizsolMemberYou might have to surrender that domain to the program who’s Terms and Conditions suck the most. :1Dopey:

Inactive@bb1webs]after considerable thinking on the subject, I suggest that everyone create a page or section on their site that lists, casino by casino every name that has proven to treat affs/players in an unethical or especially unlawful means which includes breaking the terms of contracts which were already entered into[/QUOTE wrote:
This is an excellent idea, and it’s something that I’ve been meaning to do for a while.
Referback will have top placement on my list, followed by Fortune Affiliates and Vegas Partner. I don’t have first-hand experience with Partner Logic or Wager Junction, but I will most likely include those programs as well.

InactiveTHIS IS EXACTLY I AM DOING RIGHT NOW!
My webmasters page is running with only half and besides that i not recommend their casinos to players because i don`t believe in half “rotten” casinos (i mean, just the affiliate program). The whole thing deserves go to the garbage.
After years of traffic delivered by affiliates those networks are just turning their back. we should do the inverse now starting to promote them at our sites like “blacklisted casinos” and drive traffic to better programs.
And i just start to think something else is going on behind the scenes.
Are they too big that affiliates are not welcome?

I should add “and affiliate programs” and make a blacklist.

Guestwell I really hope it doesn’t come to any of this, but lets face it – if these programs are allowed to chisel us down again and again, sooner or later we’re going to reach a point where this niche is no longer profitable enough for us to feel its worth the extra effort, money and possible legal hassles.
I also truly hope that the programs in question are reading this and choose to NOT make us force our hands.
Hell I don’t want to be hard to get along with: but at the same time I expect of people how I treat them in return. And I keep my word to the best of my ability and I certainly do not and will never be so blatantly wrong and not attempt to do something to make it right, if not for the sake of those I’ve wronged, then for the sake of my soul, and the sake of walking amongst ANYBODY in the world and holding my head high because I know I’ve always tried to do the right thing, and when I failed at that; that I did my best to make up for things.
There would be no winners if we were all forced to put up a section on our valuable advertising space that proclaims “WARNING! these casinos are known to NOT honor financial obligations! casino A. casino b. casino c. (insert your casino’s name here if applicable)”.
And these programs are nearly guaranteeing this will happen if they continue because they’re leaving us 2 choices. Fight now, while we still have ground to hold. Ignore the problem and watch as the rest of the industry falls suit.
I cannot urge everyone strongly enough that we make an impact felt before we all end up on some kind of CPA deal which will make it impossible for anybody to compete with the casinos on buying ad space.
Its a slippery slope and I beg everyone to make their stand now. If its any consolation its going to hurt me very much as some of these programs are very lucrative for me.
And I don’t think calling the affiliate programs rogue will be sufficient. You badmouth the casino and there will be attention given. Hell some of these places have already begun to distance themselves from their affiliate side; so don’t let that fool you. Point at the casino; not the affiliate program and you’ll be heard and you’ll see action.
again, I hope and pray it doesn’t come to any of this; but just because I don’t want to be the type to play hardball doesn’t mean I am not smart enough to play the game with the best of them. I think this is true for many, many affiliates.

And that’s the truth if I ever heard it!
If the players find out which casinos change T&Cs retroactively they will not trust them either.
As well they shouldn’t.
All we need to do is tell our players the plain truth and facts.

I think that’s a better idea. Target the real casino income — warn the players to stay away from these casinos. Explain how they screwed over the affiliates, and explain that if they can screw the affiliates, they’re certainly capable of screwing the players. I think that’s what I will do when I make my blacklist page.
bb1webs wrote:I also truly hope that the programs in question are reading this and choose to NOT make us force our hands.I wish the offending programs would respond. The silence from VP, FA, RB, and the others is insulting. This issue is not going to go away. Please respond to our concerns. That is why you have a forum at CAP — to respond to affiliate concerns. Please work with us on these issues; don’t ignore us.

GuestHi again,
I just got off the phone with an aff who is redirecting all the links of those programs in question to a page that says
Due to reasons we can not disclose at this time.. This site will no longer refers players to the following casinos
xxxxx
xxxxx
xxxx
xxxxxxx
xxxx
xx(I have deleted the actual names of the casinos because I’m hoping that some further thinking will be done by the programs in question and that they will choose to take the higher road)
Please select another casino from the trusted online casinos listed below for the best gaming experience..
xxxxx
xxxx
xxxxxx
xxafter thinking about it, a nice politically correct warning such as the above actually IMHO will scare players more than if you added a more detailed reason for blacklisting the casinos.

GuestI further want to remind programs that currently, we are the sole way you are getting traffic.
Now is it wise; is it really going to be more profitable; to piss-off the sole source of traffic?
Treat us fair. We (the majority of us) don’t try to mistreat you. We do our very best, spend our money, all in the name of promoting your product and all we ask in return is that you honor the terms you yourselves created to entice us to join.
I shouldn’t have to bring any of this up, but at this point it seems like it needs reminding.
And if there is such a thing as Karma, then you’re really screwing yourself because you’re screwing a lot of people in one swing of the axe if you insist on continuing in such fashion.
Do the right thing and you will never feel less about yourself. Its so simple!

What did partnerlogic do? i missed that one. I think next month i’m going hit them where it hurts and refuse to do any media buys with them untill what ever they did is fixed.
August 4, 2005 at 10:23 pm #670175Anonymous
InactivePartnerlogic says:
Please remember that from this month, if you refer 0 new players, you will only receive 20% commission, no matter what revenue your old players generate…added incentive to participate in the promotions listed below
It’s the same one we let Referback get away with months ago and which is pretty much grandfathered for them now. It is really the root of all evil – we should have stopped it then and programs wouldn’t run around today confident that breaking contract with us is not going to hurt them.
