miplcdegxnjvMemberits true as a team we can acheive things together. However some people may have got their fingers burnt in a team. Also I think the begging process of online marketing is hard, but once you start earning, the hardest part is over, just stick with it

Freerolls.bzMemberI hear you loud and clear orbetting………………….having been involved in the Online Marketing Industry for many years in a range of different verticals and to see too many people starting out making those simple error’s of been hauled into get rich scam’s!!! I have tried countless times to get people to open up and see sense, but they just don’t see a honest & trustworthy offer these days. Once we all team together and start to clean up this Industry, the cream will always go to the fat cat and not to the hard working people struggling to keep afloat.

gokkenMemberThe BIG issue is trust and the 2’nd being, talk is cheap!
I don’t want to sound like a cynic but the industry is all but F#cked.
The irony of this, the industry has itself to blame!

Freerolls.bzMemberI could not have said it better aussieDave…………………well my wording may have been slightly different
So the general knowledge is out there and the majority agree with this and my question to you and everybody out there ” What are we going to do about it”. I tried many years ago with a Mr. White and we got shoot down by the big guy’s and the corrupt so called affiliate Guardian’s, who just look after their own butt’s. I also instigated the Affiliate Manager’s Chat on a rival forum, but corrupt Affiliate Manager’s just abused the inside discussion’s for their own needs!!!! I would love to start a solid group of long standing affiliate managers, consultants to better aid the new & old and clean up our industry for good. Then maybe the operator’s will start to look at the market in a different light!!!! Have a great week to all and I am here to advise and consult to get the ball rolling 24/7

gokkenMemberHi Keith,
What you’ve outlined is 100% spot on.
I’m generally an optimistic person – you have to be when your an affiliate. What I’ve found if you go against the flow or more to the point, the politics, you’ll get slapped back into the stone age. Without blowing smoke up my own backside, I’ve been an affiliate since 2000 and I’m a good resource to have around. Although it’s blatantly obvious the industry needs people like me, being outspoken about issues and keeping the bastards honest. Yet that didn’t stop the GPWA pulling my private membership because I stood on some toes over there!
While I commend anyone who holds a similar outlook, the problem is these “cliques” you speak of, are so strong now, with so many fingers in so many pies (errr conflicts of interest), going up against them or trying to fight for the rights of everyone, is sadly a waste of time. Worse, it will likely get your character brought into disrepute with trumped up lies and what not.
FYI, CAP is the only place I hold membership at and the only place which seems to appreciate my candid input. The rest of the affiliate forums and CM has banned me.
The online gaming cartel has a monopoly over affiliates and players. The truth or lies, it’s all the same to them, to protect their self serving interests, they do and say whatever it takes.

Dave

gerelasMemberironman2000, thank you for your positivity and willingness to be open to being a part of a team within the industry!
It’s this sort of openness and enthusiasm that make a difference in this community, and industry as a whole!

Freerolls.bzMemberUnfortunately when anybody stands up again the establishment it’s brushed aside as another affiliate/webmaster having a bad day and blowingoff steam!
My biggest fault in this Industry is my honesty & trustworthiness, but it still has not stopped friends becoming enemies, because so called friends had their own interests at heart.
Many thanks for you guy’s coming out and at least having your voice heard, but I feel our words will just fall on deaf ears.
Have a great week and I will continue doing what I feel is just and the correct way to conduct business and money is not everything inthis life as piece of mind!!!!July 15, 2013 at 8:21 pm #833900
Freerolls.bzMemberMy prime objective over the years has been to listen, guide and assist many people from the top down to the bottom. I have always done this task willingly and openly without asking for any kind of consultancy fee, because it’s my nature to help in general, not only in our industry, but outside in my private life’s activities!
Many of you out there, who are reading this thread and post, know exactly what I am speaking about.
As always my door is open for anybody who feels the need to knock and I will gladly be there to answer and give my opinion to your questionor problem!
Have a wonderful week to everybody and never forget your friends and don’t carry a grudge…………let it go and our industry will be betterfor it now and always.
Many thanks for reading and it would be awesome if more people would take the time to speak out and be counted!!!July 16, 2013 at 1:33 am #833902Anonymous
Inactiveyou guys know its gambling.

Freerolls.bzMemberThis is a very cynical view at looking at the problem, but at the end of the day your spot on when you say gambling. Life in general has a two edged blade to it, which side has the cutting edge is down to chance.
I just hope for you and many other’s out there that the gamble pay’s off, because it’s a short lived high and one which has no forward thinking or planning!

CasinoCouponsMemberThis is just my take on things as a long time affiliate in other niches and the changes I’ve seen happen over the years.
Years ago when affiliates knew how to rank sites in a Goog search engine that wasn’t diluted full of their own self serving ads, we controlled the traffic and the AMs knew it. They had to work with us and keep us sweet or they didn’t get a slice of OUR pies!
Since Goog shook up its algo and went all out war against affiliates, the balance of power has shifted away from us and into the laps of the operators. Just look at the SERPs for most of the major, high traffic terms and where once affiliate sites dominated, its now mostly operators.
Now the ops have more power and we have less control of the traffic, they can change their TOS to suit themselves and thumb their noses at us because they can. Maybe it won’t last, but for now, there’s no getting away from teh fact that Goog controls almost ALL the traffic and it gets to say who plays in its playpen and who goes to the naughty step.
Right now, it likes the Brands, so they get to play. With their own free traffic, they don’t need us so much. They have the power. When you have the power, you call the shots. You know, like in the kingdom of the blind, the one eyed man is king. power corrupts. So we are seeing more of this power thing happening and the affiliates are suffering with income way down and less leverage because we don’t control the traffic like we used to.
The solution is simple, but likely unachievable because we can’t make Goog change.
The idea of uniting against the common enemy is a rousing concept and fires up the motivation. I love the sentiment, but reality makes its painful slap round the back of the head – and that reality is we can’t fight something as big and as deeply entrenched as Google. Without the traffic it supplies, even in unison we haven’t got the leverage to stand up to the big brands doing whatever they like to their terms.
I remember seeing this happen with eBay a few years ago when they started kicking out all their highest earning affiliates, while making crazy changes to their terms for existing affiliates, because they thought they could work without them. Amazon are heading that way too, because they own most of the Goog serps for any keywords that are worth having, so why pay affiliates a cut when they can keep it all to themselves?
Until Goog gets tired of that particular toy and decides to give someone else a go.
…ok I’m starting to ramble on a bit.
Point is, I totally agree with you ironman2000 that we should try and work together more closely, while at the same time I can see the futility of it if things don’t improve from outside our sphere of control. My 2 cents, anyway.

gokkenMemberkiss #ass post brodog.
There is a whole lot of people (not only webmasters but general public) getting sick of the cr#p in Goog. I’m starting to get more and more traffic from Bing. Albeit it’s not huge but Empires rise and fall.

Cheers mate

Gaming Goog has been a big part of my strategy since I started in this game 7 years ago. It was good while it worked, not good now. But things are changing and yeah, that empire is getting itself ready to implode under its own bloated weight. The bigger they are…
