Well, I learned my lesson, and thankfully it only cost me $300.00 and change.
I just can’t believe they would throw away over $1000.00 a month over such a small amount of money.
It’s obvious to me that they intend to mislead people.
Why else would it be that the only way you can add money to your account is to “increase the budget”?
Why else would “inclusion” be a default?
Why else would they havea 2 day lag in click/stats reports?
Why else would you have to bid a certain amount just to have your ad seen? (It has to be at the top of the bids to be displayed at all).
Because of the above, I had already decided not to use their services anymore.
I was very nice to them on the phone, up to a point – but ended up getting chided for cussing……..and it takes a lot to get me to throw away my middle-class, conservative Canadian nature to get to that point!!!!

Any business that takes so much trouble to mislead their customers doesn’t have much integrity, and is very likely to be selling bogus traffic.
When I looked at the traffic I was getting from Looksmart, it was mostly WebTV users, so this has to convert really badly to download casino sites!
Unfortunately, once I closed my Looksmart account, I lost my natural SE rankings at MSN. Once you’ve paid them, they won’t do free listings anymore, which really hurt. I’m looking forward to the launch of the new MSN search, so I’ll be listed there again.
Yes, I’ll second Fergie’s recommendation. Stay away. Far far away.
Looksmart sucks terribley.
Once they lost their MSN placement they had no value whatsoever and I think saying 90% of their clicks are worthless is generous.
10% is just for the back links – not for clicks

It’s funny beacuse i have a friend at Yahoo, a friend at goog, live 2 blocks from looksmart, down the street from Overture….where i got to the beach on the bay alot…used to work at Lycos..
To bad I didnt work at these places when I was doing this stufF!

like I said…I kinda get off in a I used to be in there position, now I am jaded and bitter, so it feels good to get back when I can kinda way:P
Looksmart has always had a lot of fraudulent clicks. In the past it was worth being with them because of MSN. Even if 1 in 5 clicks was genuine it was still a great deal.
Without MSN they are useless and 100% consist of fraudulent clicks. The only reason I even like them is because I made some decent cash with them on thier stock a while back.
