vladcizsolMemberThe Stardust was really dated and the food in the hotels retaurants was miserable. I think the new resort which will spring up will be a VAST improvement over the Stardust. I hope they do the same thing with some of the other old fleabag hotels on the strip. The Riviera and Circus Circus should be demolished and rebuilt (though I do like winning stuffed animals for the kids in the Midway area).
Hey it’s about time they redid Excaliber too.

vladcizsolMemberMaybe Echelon Place will have balconies? You never know.
Balonies have to be a liability issue with casinos. I can imagine over the years more then a few people “took the dive” after losing all their money downstairs…

InactiveHow very sad. IMO some of these landmarks should be preserved, spiffed up and marketed as such.
I doubt we will ever see balconees in Vegas again, only locked windows you can’t even open if you bring tools. Always makes me feel like I am in a gilded cage, a luxury jail.

InactiveVegas is interesting, because they have some of the coolest and most historical places in the world, but they also have this amazing willingness to tear them down and replace them with bigger and newer megaresorts. I’d almost prefer visiting Reno anymore.

InactiveEveryone at the Casino Affiliate Convention is really sad to see this historical landmark gone – especially since we held our event there for four years.
The hotel was old but within those walls were thousands of stories and memories and ghosts of hollywood from the years gone by.
Stardust Resort & Casino
1958-2006Thanks for the memories!!!
We will miss you!!! :unhappy:
From the whole CAC Team.

nick777MemberWhen I first saw the implosion, all I could think of was the history of the Stardust – I agree, it could have been renovated to keep its wonderful history.
But, it must be cheaper to tear them down…
