InactiveQuite a few programs have left recently. Hopefully with the much lower rates now many of them will return soon.
These programs do not have a forum anymore, but they are still able to post and take care of business here. :hattip:

AlmanatorMemberWell that is not good at all Dom but I suspect it has more than just fee’s to do with it but, and I mean this with respect, shouldn’t you have lowered the fee’s long ago prior to the mass exodus? I would imagine those programs will not be so easily brought back if they left strickly on the fee’s.
Hope to see them return, it is a shame to see them leaving.

InactiveI agree with you. Fees were way out of line.
I just volunteer here as mod, so I have nothing to do with admin.
And you are right, there was a scandal that set all this in motion, but I’d rather not open that can of worms again.
At this time CAP rules and procedures are totally transparent, fees are publicly posted and CAP is off to a new start.
It still has a lot of supporters and sponsors, and I don’t think it will be long before everyone comes back in the fold.
Meanwhile, all the programs have access, whether they have a paid listing or not. I think that is an improvement, affiliates have a better chance of settling issues with any program.
Also, certification has been dropped. We just have paid listings, and the search function here serves to make up one’s mind if the program is good for affiliates. Also, AGD certifies the affiliate T&Cs, so this would just be a duplicate if CAP did it.

playlivebingoMemberHey Guys,
Just saw this thread and I thought that I would come and shed some light on what’s
been going without opening the proverbial can of worms as Dom put it. We did
write up an official notice about our withdrawal, but the forum was closed the day
I wanted to make the post.Since the entire CAP issue was blown out of the water, we decide to ride out our
existing membership with the current CAP body. Our justification behind the decision
wasn’t only over the fees but because of our unease with dealing with CAP in it’s
current structure brought on by what had transpired over the past 3 months. It is truly such a pity that things had come to this, we definitely always found an
enormous amount of value found here by the way of affiliate’s questions, feedback
and albeit at times some of the harshest criticism I’ve ever received but it sure
kept me on my toes and pushed us to improve our program at every turn. One of the example would be the Inactive Banner Report that we’ve recently begun
providing affiliate more in depth reports about the hits and clicks being received
from their sites, Dom gave us feedback and wanted to know the referring pages
to minimise the amount of guess work for affiliates that have 500+ pages. We have now included this in the report for all affiliate to benefit from, so there’s
always value for us in dealing with you all, but this is not the right place for us at
this point in time.We are most definitely prepared to deal with CAP again, once we feel that they are
working impartially and in both affiliates and operators interests, so for the time
being we may be down but we’re definitely not out.June 3, 2009 at 3:47 pm #800386

Hope to see them return, it is a shame to see them leaving.Well, I don’t think any of us at CAP assume the departure of some of the programs was based strictly based on fees. Additionally i think its fair to say the fee adjustment was not based on the recent public relations nightmare, or fear of losing sponsors, but more a change in management coupled with a very real understanding of a changing economy, and very much a shift in the way we at Affiliate Media do business.
In the past CAP has acted as a promotional vehicle, a community, and voice for affiliates in the industry. That’s changed a bit, not 100% but I think we would be fools if we did not adjust our tactics and focus to adapt to the changing economy. It is this economic slowdown, that has us shifting away from a passive role to a more active one. In the coming months, you will see a significant change in the look at feel of both CAP and PAP, as well as new solutions targeted at helping affiliates and operators convert better and utilize the more social nature of a changing internet.
So will they come back? I’m betting on it, and working hard every day to ensure they do.
Additionally, I just want to throw it out there, that I am very much open to suggestions, and comments from anyone in the community, as without you, we are just a website. Essentially more than ever you have a voice in how the community is run, and what offerings we make available.
Thanks,
Bob -
