InactiveAleph, is this happenening to you? I know in the past and just a few days ago, Referback took care of a few jerks from spamming me. Also Golden Star Network and Integrity Casinos (Capt. Cooks) helped me out and stopped it.
I can only say who has helped, not once have I had a casino look the other way when I asked about it.November 9, 2003 at 11:26 am #641302Anonymous
InactiveHi Ellen,
No. I was asking if any affiliate programs allow some affiliates
to spam or send unsolicited mail indiscriminately even though
they advertise a no spam policy.

InactiveThey all do don’t they?

Until it is brought to their attention via complaints anyways. Don’t think it is a good idea to spam. Never come across anyone who likes it.
Saw something about the spam king in florida who sends out zillions of emails a day and earns a bundle at it….so if you are prepared to do the same get a few big and beefy bodyguards first…

Of course some of them do. It is unfortunate, It is unfair to honest affiliates, but it’s a pure business decision.
If you have affiliate A producing $400K in monthly revenue and affiliates B,C,D and E who produce $25K combined write to you and complain about A and demand you stop him/her, what do you do?
If you alienate Affiliate A he may pull you altogether and not only do you lose all those new players, but he will be sending them to your competitor :nervous: .
Even if Affiliate A doesnt pull you totally, it could damage the relationship and you’ve been trained not to do that at any costs. Just imagine if you were the Aff Manager who lost the goose thats been laying all these golden eggs by pissing them off? The owner of the casino runs into Affiliate A at a convention or calls him to ask why he’s no longer promoting your casino and Affiliate A says “Gee, I loved you guys, but your affiliate manager wrote me and threatened to cut me off for doing mailings to my opt in list!”
Take a guess what happens to that Affiliate Manager….
Would you want to put your job on the line to make affiliates B,C,D and E happy?
Not all programs do this, but following this line of logic it’s safe to assume some DO.
If you have any doubts that this goes on then just check your email inbox and you’ll know it’s happening.

vladcizsolMemberOne more thing about my post above…. If you are affiliates B,C,D,E or F-Z DO NOT Spam. You won’t get away with it if you arent producing the revenues that Affiliate A does. In your case the casino will close your account, seize the commissions due you and look like a hero to the rest of the affiliates…

InactiveI definitely agree with the Professor.
Furthermore, we have the casinos themselves spamming like there is no tomorrow (maybe that is actually why they are increasing this so much – the fear of no tomorrow).
I see that I am getting a lot of follow up mail from places I have played at to test – this should work for me, since all my players with such casinos are getting it too. Somehow though, I don’t see any returning players from this… some of these programs I have not promoted in months, even years. That makes it easy to see if the mailers work. None of the mailings ever seem to draw an old player back in. Now, if the mailers don’t work, would the casinos send them?
I also get a lot of solicitations from new casinos I’ve never played at, and I never give out that particular address except to affiliate programs. These are unrelated casinos, nothing to do with any of the programs I ever enrolled with.
What gives?
