voodoomanMemberI don’t travel much, unfortunately, but if you are coming to the Eastern Cape area I would recommend Shamwari Game Reserve. It’s not too far from Port Elizabeth, so you could fly in and hire a vehicle to get there. You can get to see the big five in a malaria free area.
I know Pembury Tours offer a shuttle service to Shamwari from the airport amongst other things. :hattip:

InactiveIf you happen to come to Johannesburg – Sun City is the place. 2 Hours drive from the airport and has hotels, casino, water sports, golf, shops, cinemas, theatres…you name it and it is all in one complex – a perfect spot for a honeymoon….however Joburg is not a normal holiday destination so I would suggest the Garden Route in the Cape.

StarBucksSportsMemberI think the Kruger National Park is a great place too. Game drives, Sundowner cocktails, just relaxing at the pool. I think it’s pretty close to Sun City too.
Not quite a secret, but it’s good: http://www.krugerpark.co.za/
and more specifically Sabi Sabi: http://www.sabisabi.com/
Another wild game reserve: http://www.lionsands.com/
That said, the Cape and the garden route and all that is great too, but personally I would imagine that if you’re going to Africa, you might as well do the safari thing.
http://www.capegardenroute.co.za/Then of course there is the Drakensberg in Natal
http://www.drakensberg.kzn.org.za/index.php?districthome+22Other than that mate, I can probably ask my mom to put you up in my old room in Springs on the East Rand of Joburg. Not much animals or sights, but it’s cheap and booze is plentiful.:tongue:
Anyway, whatever you choose, I hope you guys enjoy, and congrats once again.

InactiveI would say two to three nights is all you need on Safari. Apart from the Kruger Park, there is also Pilanesberg National Park which is right next to Sun City and has the “Big Five” on display. Its only two hours from Johannesburg and its also a maleria free area which is a bonus so no anti maleria tabs need to be taken.
Cape Town is a must, with Table Mountain, Robbin Island and all the wine farms in the area. You can rent a car and take a drive down the Garden Route to Knysna, staying in B&B’s along the way. Really breathtaking scenery and lots to see and do.

InactiveAnd if adrenaline boosting is your thing, about 60 kms east of Knysna on the Bloukrans bridge (dividing the Eastern and Western Cape provinces) you will find the highest commercial bungee jump in the world: 216 metres.
Lots of good scuba diving in SA too. Fantastic place mate, can’t say it often enough.
Cheers,
