InactiveBig freeroll or tourney promotion?
Was it just Absolute Poker?
Did you have an increase in visits to your site too?
Did you happen to be #1 in a key workd for a day or so ?May 18, 2006 at 6:42 am #692587Anonymous
InactiveWhy don’t you start by checking your web stats to see why you were driving so much traffic. Sounds to me like you might have been ranked for a competitive term on Google that day. Just a guess.

check themLike i said, i’m still part rook, i have no idea what that means or how to do it
Let me put forth something of a legal question
If i made a request to change my program from Cpa to rev share in April, and had e-mails to prove it, and in May i get some new players…should they be put on the Cpa or rev share
The situation is this:
I was originally on rev share, then requested to have a Cpa option, but got my program completely changed to Cpa, then requested a change back to rev share if i could not have both options
My players are still under the Cpa, even though i requested the change over a month ago
In the last 2 weeks i have 35 new players depositing many thousands of dollars and already played many thousands of hands
In fact, my net revenue is already way higher than my Cpa payout in just those 2 weeks
What is the proper course of action
I just know i’m getting screwed out of some nice coin, which is not what i wanted and why i requested the program change
Should the poker room put these new players on rev share as i had requested before i sent them there, or should they offer some other solution that is more fair to both of us, and not just them
What do you guys/gals think
This is not about sour grapes or anything like that, i have the e-mails, and there is even a post about it here on the forum from a month ago

InactiveI´m not a lawyer but I think your chances are good to have them transfered to rev share.
Statsprograms that are free and worth while are:
statcounter
awstats
and google analytics if you can get your hands on it

InactiveNick,
Do you have access to your control panel? IF so, awats stats are probably already installed there. If it is, click the link for it, and very good analysis of stats will show lots of good info on referrers for that day.

InactiveI feel so stupid, i’ve been with my host for over a year and never bothered clicking the “Marketing” button in my control panel
Turns out i got Google Adsense account and a whole bunch of other goodies
Anyways, i found out what page all those new players came from, it’s averaging 173 visitors a day so far this month, and the daily average has gone up every month for the past year, how pleasant
Maybe i didn’t just fluke one off as i originally thought, i might actually know what i’m doing, how scary
Thanks guys, i’m in a good mood, free links for everyone

InactiveChecking your traffic statistics is one of the best choices you can make. That way you can see what works, and what doesn’t, perfecting it even more

Use your webhoster statistics programs, or google analytics, anything, but check them once in a while!
Good luck!May 18, 2006 at 10:45 pm #692647Anonymous

I get quite a few deposits and significant turnover at Bet365 these days Nick777 and yes you should be on rev-share. My ruyle of thumb would be that these players would be worth $3,500 to you this month alone … and at least half will redeposit.
What did you get paid in CPA ?
As for switching …
I don’t think that “legally” you can force them to change you – but these programs are in it for the money – and keeping happy and productive affilaites is their business. You’re now very productive – so they’ll want to keep you happy.
:satisfiedWhen I’ve renegotiated terms with advertiser clients – we’ve often backdated it to the start of negotiations / beginning of the month. So I’d certainly contact them (politely) reforwarding the email and ask them to confirm that they’ve “completed the switch-over on 1st April as agreed at “.
:shhh:It’s a nice little turn of phrase that helps to cement in the recipients mind that you discussed and expected action on their part – usually they’ll comply.
:satisfied
As for Sweden’s World Cup chances … well it’s possible but they’re 50/1 for a reason mate …If they finish runners up in their group – then they should face Germany ion Berlin in the second round – and that might be the end of their competition.
I’ll be at that game … and if Sweden win … I’ll be thinking of you …

Inactiveopps … strike that revenue estimate ..
I’ve just realsied it’s poker you were talking about – not sportsbooks
Sorry.
:shhh:Any experienced poker affilaites perpared to estimate a rake share on 35 players depositing $500 each ?

InactiveActually Gooner, i figured Sweden would win their group ahead of England and play Poland in the 2nd round, so you’ll be watching Germany play England
I just mentioned them because i noticed in the Champs League final yesterday that the 2 best players on the field were both Swedes, Larsson and Ljundberg, that is a positive sign for the national team, looks like they’re in good form, fit and ready to go, and they are always a good team anyway
Worth a deuce buddy
As for the other stuff, yeah, i already forwarded them the e-mail last night, with similar content like you described
As for you and Bet365, you might want to add some poker rooms running World Cup promos, like Goal Poker, plus some others are running freerolls as WC tickets for prizes, etc…PM if you’re interested, i’ll have to look em up, i just remember seeing a few, i think Best Poker is another one, and i can’t remember now, a few more
