InactiveSobig continues to fire off some 10 viruses per minute at me. It caused me to spend over an hour doing a (much needed) cleanup in my mailbox, but alas, I still have to purge every half hour.
My concentration is broken everytime I do this, so I am getting less work done.
Also, I notice that less of my mailers are being opened. Less than half of the usual open rate. Oddly, the click rate is up. Perhaps people are opening the letter they recognize and dumping the others – working in favor of my click rate.

InactiveOne thing i am really glad about….is that this virus is restricted to a mail client, and not the server.
For example, I have one client that has been getting thousands of these puppies, but the worst day he had with this problem, I had ZERO cases of this come in that afternoon. In fact at one point when it was at it’s worst, he had gotten 600-800 in less than 2 hours.
This particular email address is a publicly advertised account for fans of a (very popular) Rock-N-Roll band to send in pictures. We figure this account may continue to get nailed for many months to come.
The domain that had the problem, is on the same mail server as my domains. Of course, my mail server has NO adresses in the default mail client on the server.

GuestHello:
Yeah I’ve definately got my fair share of SoBig emails. Luckily I use Yahoo for some of my accounts and they have been good about sending the emails to the bulk email trash bin…Thank Goodness!

InactiveTrue enough about yahoo, they have finally figured out to send mine there too. Now I just got to remember to empty that thing.
I am still being hit heavily. It’s been over a week of extremely intense targeting.
