InactiveSPAM that bothers me is the Viagra, xxxx lengthener, and crappy pill ads. :roflmao:
I’m the type that will just sort the spam filter by the “TO” field, move the important stuff and anything left or not on my list is part of the bulk delete.

InactiveIf you are introducing yourself as a skin of “888.con” (real quote) you’re basically off to a bad start and are already carrying all the 888 marketing baggage. If you contact affiliates with well thought out, customised emails I wouldn’t consider that spam. But as always if you feel you are crossing the line then you probably are!

InactiveViagra etc aside, I don’t consider one or two targeted mails from an aff program spam. If they are bulk and don’t mention some detail about my site, they get a cursory glance before deletion, and I have very rarely responded to one of these. It would have to be a great coincidence of timing and content to be acted on.
If they show much more often than that, they get trashed without a glance, and the sender name sticks with me as an annoyance. I get so much legitimate daily mail that repeated spam becomes an annoyance at best.
If the mail is personal and shows someone actually bothered to look at the site, it gets read. If it is of interest but not right now, it gets filed. When looking for new programs, I look at these files.

InactiveAs far as email spam, anyone who puts me on their mailing list because they met me or emailed me and i replied, any solicitation that isn’t customized to me, anyone who emails more than twice without me replying (just because you want to chat with me doesn’t mean i’m obligated to answer) to them.
On CAP, any post that isn’t really relevant in the thread and is self promotional. A self promotional post by an affiliate program even if on topic. Back when MGS announced leaving US, some folks posted a detailed description of your affiliate program that takes paragraphs to describe, that is spam in my book. A post saying: “our program will continue taking US players” is not spam.

Remember, the merchants pay a lot of money to become certified and although not necessarily advisable there’s no harm attracting attention to their program. Within reason of course.

InactiveWell i think i cleary defined the difference between a reasonable mention of a fact about your program, vs derailing a thread with what amounts to a brochure.
If it was XYZ affprograms and they posted:
We at XYZ don’t spam.
Followed by 5 or 10 paragraphs about their program and their clients, i think most people would feel that was spamming this thread. If they just linked to the long page, that’s ok too.
I guess it’s about the degree of promotion, the thread in question. but taking to the light touch is always better to overdoing it.

Sure that with the viagra spam I receive, I could open a pharmacy but for me the worst spam is the one which tells you you can help a child to get the money of its parents who died in an accident and you will receive a part of the 15 millions dollars which is blocked at the bank.

Asaf ShachafMemberThe one spam that I hate recieving is the one asking me to join thier affiliate programme… You would think the email address @bet365.com would give them a hint.
also I tend to view my emails through the preview window and every now and again without warning I get a large penis in my face… but then I dont mind those ones so much lol
I similar to Yann_Fruitkings hate the ones with a picture of a burnt baby asking for money if i send the email to hundreds of people.. I think those email senders should be put in prison.

InactiveSpam is email sent to a person that did not request YOU send it to them. Period
Buying a email list is illegal, and all mail sent to it is SPAM
