InactiveSmoking bans in other places have been not had the NEGATIVE impact expected on pubs, clubs, restuarants and casinos.

InactiveYou may find the smoking bans in the UK have a positive affect. Basically those part off by places with lots of fumes will now consider giving these places a try, and those who are addicted to bingo etc will end up going but take constant smoke breaks.
my two cents,

InactiveMost places in Canada have a smoking ban. All that means is that everyone still goes out. The difference is that every 15 minutes or so the entire population goes to smoke outside even when it’s -40 out. It’s funny watching them freeze.
Whenever I go to places like Vegas I realize how grateful I am to live with somewhere with a smoking ban in place. I hate the fact that in Vegas I go out for 10 minutes, I cant breath, and I stink like smoke for the day. As a nonsmoker I can really feel the crap enter penetrate my lungs and the various toxins give me a headache. I have nothing against people smoking I just don’t think that I should be forced to sit there and absorb cyanide.
The ban will make a difference for a couple of months but then things will be back to normal.

And restaurants, bars and clubs ARE MUCH MORE enjoyable for non-smoking patrons and staff now too.
Our local publicily listed casino has a lot of negative press about the smoking ban – especially as they cater for high rolling chain-smoking asian players …
There were dire predictions of losing business to Australian casinos (etc).
In truth their turnover is up 10% this year – although profits are down – but that’s expalined as normal variations and a big lucky run by one punter in particular …
Peoples behaviour does change quite quickly it seems …

supervinceMemberI’m a smoker myself and I was pissed about the smoking ban in the US at first but now I’m glad it happened. I like to smoke my cigaweed when I’m out at the club but I hate being in a big cloud of smoke with my eyes constantly burning. Now that I have to go outside to smoke, I smoke a lot less. As for smokers spending more time at home gambling rather than going to the casino…I doubt it. Gambling online is fun and convenient but it doesn’t beat the experience of going to a real casino. Just my opinion.
