InactiveHmm…that’s slightly odd. If they had problems with Income Access software, why don’t they just switch to something else, like NetRefer. Closing down the affiliate program doesn’t really sound like the answer to me.

FelixtheCatMemberWhat is CAP’s position on this? I mean, Smartlive is a featured program here, aren’t they?
Edit: Ok, seems they aren’t anymore but they were once if I remember well.

InactiveHi all,
We received the same email this morning and were surprised . Not sure what prompted it as we were in their office a fortnight ago and all seemed great.
As some of you may know, Smartlive have had technical issues in the past and were unable to upload data to their affiliate programme back in March. However they informed us that they had fixed their database problems and started uploading files in June. We then uploaded all the data from January to June 09 so those of you who were promoting could be paid as all the tracking continued to work through their database ordeals.
Nonetheless, it looks like their problems still persist and they have decided to close their affiliate programme.
We are disappointed that they have chosen to end their programme this way.
We hope they will re-open again once they address the technical issues. We will keep you posted should we hear any more.
Best regards,

Income AccessI don’t think many affiliates would sign up there again after this.
I am sure they will have no ‘technical issues’ keeping hold of all the current players sent by affiliates. So much for lifetime earnings.
At the least, a small goodwill payment could have been made for each active player as some compensation.September 2, 2009 at 12:48 am #803655Anonymous
InactiveSara do you know if they are planning to pay August aff commissions? Finally they make us some hard earned and they do this. Not nice.
Cheers

PS are you going to be in Booodypest?

InactiveJustred, from what was written in their email, they said they would be paying out all commissions in their next accounting period.
Yes, we will be in Budapest. We will be exhibiting at the conference.
See you there.
All the best,
Sarafina

InactiveSmells like another Grand Prive to me.
Close the program, keep the “life time earnings”.
Makes it hard to trust anyone anymore in this industry.
Guys, just don’t put so many eggs in the basket that you lose big time when someone falls out of the picture… you don’t know who will screw affiliates next.

Inactivetwolinx owed me a lot lol…

InactiveI wish there was an identifying factor we could use, but there isn’t. Programs that did this are both new and old, big and small, reputable and relatively unknown….
I guess you just never know anymore.

LucretiaMemberput more pressure on the software providers that keep the lifeline intact will do the trick IMO
if you operate an unethical business you must not get the option to keep the software license, period.

sukjo1MemberIncome Access needs to publicly accept some of the blame. They were part of the equation. I haven’t been impress by Income Access. We have won numerous awards and commendations with various brands, but got diddly squat from Income Access. They have had a high brand turnover and high staff turnover. I’m hoping CAP, EGR, AWD and Gambling911 cover that also.

ZlzmbmaxMemberGreg, I’ve been dealing with Income Access for a couple of years across a couple of different brands and that hasn’t been my personal experience of them.
I’ve been in touch with the same names and faces now as I did back then and always been impressed by their professionalism and dedication to service.
An integration does require input from both sides but in my own experience it is the operator that is responsible for getting the lions share of the stuff done. After all, Income Access have integrated with numerous brands time and time again. I would say that they know what they’re doing and have it ‘down’ by now.
If you didn’t get much from working with them that’s a different matter but I don’t think that issue is related to one here.
just my 2 cents

InactiveAffiliate programs shutting down could be due to various reasons and not just failure to properly integrate with the white label affiliate software.
When a program uses third party software, they need to streamline the data transfers to update the DB so that the affiliates can check reports. Most companies who have internal affiliate programs (own software) maintain a separate affiliate DB. This also requires data transfers to update the DB on a daily basis (if not real time). Therefore not being able to transfer the data properly is not a compelling excuse. The other area where there can be an issue is tracking. In layman’s terms the program has to store the parameter in the tracking URL which the player clicks to get to the landing page of the casino. The casino has to do enable this if they want any form of tracking.
I don’t see how Income Access can be responsible for failure to achieve these. I have used Income Access for 2 different affiliate programs and found them to be very supportive and helpful. Maybe I am wrong but the people I know have been working there for over 4-5 years now.
Personally I have nothing against the program, but if they want, they can still pay the affiliates every month for the old players till they restart the affiliate program.

They should do it. This is the reason why we choose revshare over CPA obviously…
