Affiliates hoping to operate in a regulated US market will need to acquire what’s called a “service provider” license. With Nevada being the first state to allow for online poker as regulated, the first place you can get an affiliate license will be NV.
Not sure if you’re interested… but here’s some more details on Affiliate Licensing:

wbprofitsMemberSo is each state going to to need a licence cause I think New York would like some fees sure think it be the same with any other state?
and for brick and mortor Having a New Jersey Gambling Casino License does not give you 1 in Nevada and vice versa. Each has it own solo process !
I guess only time will tell on everything !

Inactive‘They’ won’t control the SERPs. Affiliates will. And the SERPs will determine where players go, unless I’m missing something.

InactiveEach state will require its own kickback, and each country outside USA will cotton on and thus want their own kickback. Then it will spread to the whole affiliate & online marketting industry.. And those who dont have a license and someone just so happens to visit your site from a state where you are not licensed and BAM* £100,000 fine or straight to jail.
Thin end of the wedge.. which will eventually lead to RFID chip n pin to even access the internet. It may sound dramatic but its the way were heading. Because they “the controlers” want total control. Nothing else will placate them.

voodoomanMemberOnce full regulation arrives what will happen to online casino groups such as Club Casino? I doubt they will ever be licensed in the USA but will they stop servicing US players? As a foreigner, I could carry on promoting these casinos into the US without any hassle.
Once the market is open will credit card companies only allow transactions for licensed gambling operations? How will these credit card companies know the difference between Club USA Casino and a licensed Vegas online casino?

PersempMemberMy understanding that affiliates using Banner Ads on a CPA deal basis might not require licensing….
If Poker becomes legal, then Google would open up Adsense one would think….
Anybody have a link to an exact definition of “Affiliate” for purposes of Nevada’s licensing?
Has anybody talked to one of the big gaming companies and asked *them* what they think is going to happen to their smaller affiliates?
I can see a possibility for affiliates to be seen as Subcontractors, and piggybacking on the main company’s license.
