InactiveI’m glad your taking your own advice not to seriously because I have to say that the price of casino.com and slots.com is not really base on the content :wink-wink
Maybe 3% (20% if I’m really bullish) of the price will be down to the content.

supervinceMemberUmm yeah I don’t think its the content that they are selling for so much. Its the domain name, traffic, and life of the websites. Not saying your not a good writer because you probably are for those sites to hire you but don’t fill your head with too much steam.

A successfull casino probably 1 year or less, casinos probably view domains like this as an investment since if they fail they will be able to more than likely sell for the same or more.

I think gaylem has been just joking and he knows the price is not because of his content:)

Correction: Yes, she was joking, not he :wavey:
Altho, I was seriously taken aback that after all these years, that slots.com would be valued so high?
I thought the days of million dollar price tags for domains were gone.June 20, 2007 at 6:17 pm #740218Anonymous
InactiveI think if it’s going to go for $5 million or more I’ll probably have to pass on the domain.

InactiveWell, there is some indirect connection to the writer – even type-in domains benefit from content and the hit rate goes up and that is a factor.

InactiveGayle’s a good writer – been following her for ages, was negotiating to get her material on my site but never closed a deal. Anyone looking for quality content might want to get in touch with her.
As for Slots.com – 5 mil is too much. Might have been worth that when the US market was in play, but anything over 1-1.5 mil would be too much for that domain now.

I wanted to notify all that CG services are provided by a Group of 7 Writers.
About 2 years ago, I organized the Gambling Writers Group to include

InactiveLooks like Slots.com didn’t sell/
There was an interesting article over at Tropical SEO yesterday about how they’re not making any more land on Manhattan, and these premium domains are going to just keep getting more expensive over the years too.

InactiveThanks for the link, Randy.
Lot of crazy listings in there, not just Slots.com – lot of greedy people in there too.
Slots.com is not going to attract any bid above 2 million, that is for sure. Had to laugh at some of the other names that weren’t sold either though…
Don’t know if I agree with the Tropical SEO post though. There may be certain names that could continue to increase in value – but on the whole prices will decrease over time.
