    No, it’s real!

He sent me a PM with proof!

The lady sent him a copy of her deed by Fedex. Maybe she’s onto something. Imagine subdividing her plot into smaller units. A real far out B&B and meditative retreat for the super rich and famous. Totally a cool place to connect and rub elbows with the monied elite of this world. Talk about networking opportunities.

I hear Trump is buying property near this LOONIE!!

If you need more proof, I saw it on the internet

Lady Buys Land on the Moon for $125,000 – YouTube

Now, as everyone knows – if you saw it on the internet – it must be true!!

    Must be a fake deed.

I bought it last year from some guy on the street corner.
    He looked real honest.

We’ll have to settle this with a duel !

    LMAO … ok.

IMO joking about winners sort of diminishes to some extent other claims of winners – heck are they all just made up too?

It does possible diminish other claims.

Mostly though, I think it primarily affects those that are just looking for ‘proof’ of their long held convictions. As soon as they find something that can remotely support their position they can grab onto it and say “HAH, I told you so”.

There are people who doubt the moon landing. So, you can also say that here is PROOF that the moon landing was faked in a studio (the same studio where they did that alien autopsy).

Yer I’ve heard of this guy he owns moon shop (celeberities have bought from him too) he thinks because he created his own moon type congress that he has rights to the moon. Nasa and ect day its default but people keep buying from him.

    http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2009/07/090717-who-owns-moon-real-estate.html

Dennis Hope, head of the Lunar Embassy Corporation, has sold real estate on the moon and other planets to about 3.7 million people so far.
(Also see “NASA Aims to Open Moon for Business.”)
As his customer base grew, he said, buyers wanted assurances that their property rights would be protected.
So Hope started his own government in 2004, which has a ratified constitution, a congress, a unit of currency—even a patent office.
“We’re now a fully realized sovereign nation,” Hope said.
The trouble is that, legally, nobody can own the moon or anything else in space, for that matter, said Tanja Masson-Zwaan, president of the International Institute of Space Law, based in the Netherlands.

“What Lunar Embassy is doing does not give people buying pieces of paper the right to ownership of the moon,” she said.

Unfortunately, “NASA Aims to Open Moon for Business” was “according to NASA under the Bush Administration”, and as we all know, it was under that historic administration that we got other gems like the current US gaming legislation.

And besides. I’d rather be a dual citizen with the Conch Republic. The commute is much shorter than the moon, and I can drink beer while the sun sets and not worry abut floating off.

That is UNLESS, I was made US Ambassador to the moon and got paid a mileage allowance plus other perks like government-subsidized health insurance, five weeks of vacation per year and annual rest & recreation leave!

Talk about hitting a real jackpot!

    ha ha .

Hey you know whats a real possiblity you have heard about advertising in space?, the real money in the short term would be trying to own parts of the earth just outside the earths atmosphere where they can put these big floating coca cola banners.

I was a little concerned about Slotland damaging their credibility a little over this one but I think that this story is so obviously an April Fool’s joke that no one took it seriously enough to be bothered ;) We’ve had lots of positive feedback to this story — including a note from the Lunar Registry thanking us for the publicity! And just for the record… except on April 1st, I would never fabricate a winner story. In fact, twice I’ve quit working for operators that refused to award an advertised prize. One of them is long since out of business (karma!) but PlayersOnly.com is still operating, IU think still run by the same guys that laughed and said (You didn’t think we were actually going to award that prize, did you?!” when I gave them the name of their contest winner.
