InactiveNice a site thats seeding into the players minds that the “other” poker places are illegal!
What boobs!
Last I heard they hadnt passed any legislation yet …
I reckon I have to give them some credit for attempting to explain away the true nature of the game.
I like the “ONLY 18” image – heck its totally 100% legal and its not gambling why do you have to be 18?

vladcizsolMemberStupid me, I thought all live poker games would fall under this category….
It is an interesting point, but then if Live Poker is skill game and totally legal why can’t I get a Credit Card or Debit charge to go through at Party Poker? The ONLY way I can fund my account is with Neteller.
I think SkillPoker is trying a marketing twist that doesn’t really hold water with the credit card companies even if the concept is valid.

InactiveTrue Professor … they advise on their site to use NETeller if
credit card is refused.Quote
If you experience problems making a direct deposit into your gaming account by Credit Card we suggest opening a NETeller account and fund it with your Credit Card instead.

InactiveI reckon they are attempting to side step the legalities in anticipation of something that may never come. “legislation”
Like you pointed out though its not going to matter if their idea works or not if the CC companies dont recognize them as such.

InactiveI bet anyone $100 there are at least a dozen poker room advertising types getting their bottoms kicked blue for not coming up with that!

Offering a $100 bet on a public board illegal?
NAHHHHH…there is no element of chance involved here, I can assure you!
Any takers?

Inactivedeaning you are probably 100% right on that
nice positioning strategy on their part
” North America’s ONLY LEGAL online Poker Site “

InactiveYes thats what they were trying to accomplish, but I think its going to backfire unless laws are passed to outlawing online gambing.
Why? Because players arent that stupid – are they?
If I was an average NORTH AMERICAN* online gambler that played in the poker rooms all the time, what would I think when I saw their site saying “were the only legal ones?”
Id prolly say ahh screw you then head back over to my usual hangout!
* I emphasized the north american because that seems to be their target audience at this time.

GuestDid anybody bother to actually read the site thru?
they actually have come up with a system that rewards the best player based on that player’s performance when facing the exact same conditions as others.
I think it would be great to try this because I think it is a way of truly telling who the better player is; and not relying on who gets the best cards.
They also have poker played the regular way. So they’re probably not going to get away with their brilliant marketing idea but if their system for rating the better player catches on, they won’t need the regular poker room.
