InactiveYou can use a service like escrow.com where they secure the transaction. Problem is that it takes a little longer.

InactiveThanks.
Trouble is neither of us really know how to transfer a site, the party I wish to buy from hosts with yahoo which I guess would include the domain, I host with offshore companies and my domain host is in Germany. Would it be a case of them changing the domain info and then just zipping up the content and sending it for me to upload once I’ve updated my DNS?
Does anyone know the best solution here? Two people would very much appreciate it!
Thanks.

InactiveThat depends upon the content.
If it is a plain html site, then yes.
If it contains a language (php, perl, ruby, etc…) then you might have to load the libraries (depending upon if your host had the libraries loaded – or not)
If it hooks to a database – then you need a backup (export) of the database and will need to alter the configuration files.
And – don’t forget to do a domain transfer. Which means you will most likely have to set up the name servers in the registrar.

Inactivemaybe first get the sellers ftp info, than download the site to your own comp.
i think, you both have to email the host in germany, to change the whois data.
(cost is same as registering a domain)than upload.
i dunno when you should pay, think its a matter of trust
