laurentThey don’t work because they have an x in front of them, so not to lead the culprit back to this post.
All you need to do is to take the x off after you paste the URL into the browser.
This theft is really turning into a huge problem.

I was reading all your posts on people stealing content and I thought I would bring to your attention something that may help.
I happened to be browing a particular site just today as a matter of fact and tried to take a look at the source code. It was locked and I was not able to. Found this to be pretty interesting, so I went to the site that was the only thing mentioned in the source code. weblockpro.com.
I’ve never used this software, but thought some of you may be interested in it.

EvieI have seen this sort of stuff before. Some sites nest there head tag further down on the page. So when a visitor goes to view the source there appears no be nothing there, just a simple message at the top of the notepad. The message can be anything, but if you scroll down the source code will be there. Its a little trick some sites use.
Another tatic used for a more aging site is a combination of the technique mentioned and the whole source is encrypted, but not make for a bot friendly site.
Sometimes you browser setting might view source in different ways. With a IE browser under view there is a option called “encoding” try selecting a different option to see what you get. There are alot of ways of pulling these tricks off. greek39
Yep, that’s exactly what he did. Used a code encryptor from one of those free webtools on line then typed in a message about having to register in the HTML and then held the enter button to bring the whole script further down the page. He wants fifty bucks to give you this. I”ll give it to you for $20.00.
Thank you Laurent for getting back to me. It appears that google has removed these scraper sites from their system. In the last few days, I have noticed that thousands of these scraper/redirection pages (from several domains) were dropped from google. I wonder if google’s latest update has anything to do with this. By the way, I’ve heard of webblockpro.com and I have a copy of a similar program called “HTML Protector”. They sound like the ideal solution, but there are 2 problems with these software programs. (1) If the source code of a page is encrypted, then google will not be able to read it, and (2) If one is marketing one’s site through the distribution of articles (which is the material that these scrapers are targetting), then it’s not possible to submit encrypted copies of these articles to the article directory sites.
I think alot of us have learned to turn these in to google. I just turned in a bunch of them.
Its a lot harder to clean them off Yahoo and MSN.
Thing is, they expect to lose their sites all the time and generate new ones all the time. This is par for the course for them.
The only thing that will stop it is if we take the profit out of it.
I really think that since stealing the content is illegal, the affiliate programs should pay the scraper affiliates nothing.. the profit came from the original sites content, and any cash in the offending affiliates newly revoked account should be forward, just my two cents though..
To a certain extent I believe the affiliate who has been scraped should be compensated.
Content theft within the framework of the internet is illegal as per policies and guide lines of all major search engines. It is also against the policies of most programs which we promote.
Getting rid of scrapers is a challenge but it can be done. I suggest a spam report, and destruction of their main domain name. For the scrapers who use external servers usually contacting their ISP provider is a good idea. Spamhouse is another good resource for reporting so is the whois directory. As a last resort if nothing is done jargonize them off the entire net. Do to this you will have to know people who can rip sites off the net. I cannot give away all the technigues, because they are always watching this forum.
The SE’s may remove them but their main domain name remains intact, enabling them to set up quickly again.
But if affiliate programs do as they say and close down accounts and forward all commissions to the affiliate then the scraper really doesn’t have no incentive to scrape. It is very unfortunate some programs say they will close the account down, but seldomly do. I have proof of this, so the scraping continues.
There are some really honest programs and these will be the big ones in a couple of years. greek39
