InactiveAre you breaking any laws? If not then you shouldn’t be worried, course that doesn’t mean they still cant or wont hassle you.
One thing I know for sure, worrying wont get you anywhere; only make you lose your hair and die an early death. If they are going to come get you; they are going to come get you; nothing you can do; so why worry?

InactiveShould you be worried?
Specifically you should only be worried if ….
(1) Are you breaking any local state laws by continuing to earn afffilaite income from known online gambling sites.
(2) Have you declared any and all income earned correctly to the IRS ?
Of course you’re fully aware that doing what you do raises your profile and so you have to stay squeaky clean in this regard …
… so I guess it comes back to you … Should you be worried ?
Truth to be told – that visit only looks like 1 or 2 pages – and could easily be a click based on a referred link from some news aggregate site.We even get a few links from Reuters at Casino labrat from time to time when we launch into a sermon on how online gambling is NOT the root of all evil.

InactiveThanks guys…
I am prolly worrying for nuthin’, but post-Carruthers I don’t take anything fro granted while I am travelling into the US. Maybe the timing was just bad…
I don’t know why the IRS would use the Treasury Department to investigate me, especially considering I’ve never mentioned “APCW” on any governmental documents.
Who knows who it really was or why they were really visiting. I hope that they got a good laugh out of some of the video content.

GuestHi all (Int)
being a full believer in prayer … I’ll be adding your name to the list tonight.
anything is possible. I have received requests via email for casino lists from @gov or something like that . gave me the shiver up the back but I went ahead and returned the list.
nothing ever came of it. may have even landed another player. can’t say for sure on that note.
I would add that I would find it surprising that you are just being noticed .. so on that thought….. probably no reason to worry any further than before.
frankly i’ve always thought you were either really brave ….. or really crazy to do what you do considering your location.
no offense intended. you’ll be in my thoughts.

Well, even our mosr popular weekly videos have only been viewed 7,000 times, which to be honest is an incredible small number compared to the big picture.
Still, maybe someone is getting tired of me running my mouth.

vladcizsolMemberProbably nothing to worry about at this point.
The only thing that worries me is many of your videos delve into the political arena and they involve politicians who are far right wing douche bags. These are the sort of people who love dirty tricks and have a proven track record of abusing the powers available to them.
It’s a catch22 situation you cant change anything without calling attention to these monsters, but on the flip side if you do call too much attention to them they will decide you are too much of a liability to ignore sooner or later.

lois1975MemberBeing a UK affiliate I havent been overly affected by the US Gaming Legislation but I would like to say, as I did on your recent video post, that I found your video really informative and if there is anything that I can do to help, YELL! 😆
File in a Cake, set up a J Todd fan site? 😆

InactiveIt’ll take a lot more than a file in a cake…
…maybe $50,000 in a cake??? :wink-winkYea, Prof, I was thinking that as well… and I’ve gone over what I’ve said about them in my head again and again. I planned what I said very carefully, and looking back I really see nothing “threatening” about my words… unless you count getting them voted out of office as a threat.
Oh well… nothing I can do now and nothing I would have changed. If there’s anything to all this that’s just the way it has to be. I knew the risks going in.
I think I’ll send out a big “hello” to them on the show this week.., :hehe:

escapeMemberTo me it just looks like they hit the site via the searching for a personal interest. SEO Book ran an article a couple of days back looking into how people don’t look beyond the page they’ve landed on from SERPs – probably the case here. I’d be more worried seeing lots of Russian IPs hitting certain PHP pages or stuff like that.
May 8, 2007 at 9:31 am #735947Anonymous
InactiveWell, the Russians can’t arrest me… and I don’t think I make enough for them to be interested in my site! LOL! :hehe:
But thank you for the observations… I am NOT a tech guy (like you can’t tell), and whenever I see a .gov it grabs my attention quick.
It was probably some US Treasury Agent looking to play poker on their lunch break. :wink-wink

InactiveIntegrity,
I have gotten plenty of .gov searches on my site over the years. Government is big business in the US, as you know, as it employs thousands.
More than likely, it is a bored (or set of bored) government workers, looking for a place to play. I, myslef, have seen several hits from westchester.gov, and the paranoia flags went up immediately for me.
I host in US, but only geotarget outside of US, so I am in 100 % compliance of this nebulous law
, as far as my legal staff is concerned. I also declare every nickel that I earn, so if I ever get hit with an audit (or a NETeller-resultant enquiry), I am totally covered. As long as you aren’t “breaking the law”, I would take a chill pill. But to be on the safe side, you may want to wear the nose and glasses on your next YouTube production.
