InactiveI can provide you help, send me details

InactiveIt depends on what type of web server you have as well as the access you have been provided.
If you have a linux/unix web server and have telnet access, you must download the tar.gz version and then upload it to your site.
A tar file is a package containing several files. A tar.gz file is the tar file that has been compressed.
To uncompress(or is it decompress) the tar.gz file you login to your telnet terminal and find the directory where your file was uploaded. Type in the following command (if you need help with telnet you need to let us know):
gunzip xaraya-1.0.2-full.tar.gz
You will now notice a file with the same name but with just a .tar extension.
Type in the following command to extract all the files to the directory you are currently in:
tar -xvf xaraya-1.0.2-full.tar
All the files should now extract to your directory.
Let me know if this helps (or not).

InactiveGodaddy is the host, I have the smallest package they sell. I didn’t really know which to choose, I called and asked for their help, told them what i am already using @ Angelfire, and what I want to add, and they said it should work.. Being clueless – makes ya awful trusting! lol
Thnx,
Cathy

InactiveIts a pity, they dont offer telnet, so the 19 days and 45 minutes is probably the option you are going to have to go with. They do have Mambo, Xoops and PostNuke as ready installed options should you decide not to go for Xaraya.
Good luck with the uploading.

InactiveJagan, I appriciate your help, aside from the “big game” comment, I dont really think that trying to learn how to do something is treating it as a game… but, after seeing another post of yours, I am leary that you are trying to sell me something, I’m not ruling that option out as of yet, but for now I would really grasp what I am dealing with, and learn to install my own forums.
Andre,
Can you suggest another hosting plan? I’ve paid for two now, why not lets make it three in 24 hours! heheh

InactiveI will be hosting my sites through a friend’s Dreamhost account. I have been looking for better deals, but Dreamhost seems to blow everyone else away.
Unfortunately I don’t know enough to help you with your forum uploading issue, I am having that same friend help w/ mine. This link is his referal link for Dreamhost, he gets free time if you decide to use it. Even if you decide not use this link, Dreamhost seems like the best deal out there.

InactiveLadyHoldem, I bought my first domain 2 years ago and Hostcaters came highly recommended. I knew even less than you, but Marty helped me every step of the way, and I have since purchased 2 more sites. There is a small hosting plan of six months for around $47, and there is a forum available right there on the servers. The servers have never been down… not ever. Marty walked me through uploading and getting into my files. xxhttp://Hostcaters.com.
Hope this helps!

Thank you for your comments Andre!!! After reading your post, I was able to call GoDaddy and intelligently explain to them why I would like my money back! Worked
