Avoiding taking in the comments from the poster of that, it doesn’t sound like it was a horrible idea.
For a minute or two, let’s stop thinking of it as “Segregation”. Schools always have students divided into different groups – age, the first letter of their last name, their grade level, etc. Why should we even care if they’re divided by skin colour? Being upset by that just makes us guilty of being racist because we’re offended by something that shouldn’t even matter.

How can you compare dividing kids by maturity with dividing kids by race??
Segragation has been around for thousands of years, and with good reason
You are not smarter than your forefathers, so stop thinking a genius brick fell on your head and wised you up
Respect the fact that people are different and don’t try to make them all the same, it’s pathetic and sickening, as well as insulting
This is not a perfect world, people don’t like eachother, that will never change
Keep em seperated and they will be happier amongst their own kind, put em together and you’re gonna get a violent reaction

Obviously this principal was thinking if you create a more comfortable environment for the students they might perform at a higher level, nothing wrong with that, it would probably work
Lets all learn a lesson from the Indians and the White man who have managed to co-exist rather peacefully by keeping segregated

no, no, no. If we divided up the blonds, redheads, brunettes, grey heads, etc into different groups, would we be this outraged?
I think being outraged by the division is racist in its own right… There’s racism where there are stereotypes or thinking of a race as being inferior and there’s racism where we refuse to acknowledge that there is no difference and instead of ‘letting it go’, we fight for the rights of a race instead of not seeing race/color.
My point is very hard to explain and I’m 90% sure that this post will either confuse the heck out of everyone or it will come off wrong and anger some people… lol :hattip:
