InactiveAlexa is not 100% accurate in both traffic and other data, IMHO.
Also, it is very possible your daughter’s computer has the spyware and NOT your site. I just checked out your site (very nice, btw) and saw NO pop-ups whatsoever.September 17, 2004 at 5:28 am #655153Anonymous
GuestYeah, I know it’s not my site.
It’s the internet at large putting scumware on people’s computers. Those dastardly villians!

InactiveYou may like trying lavasoft’s adaware to scan your computer.
It’s freeware.September 17, 2004 at 8:41 am #655158Anonymous
GuestThanks Cat.

Lavasoft is wonderful. The free ware is just as good as the purchased version, just not as many features.
That’s what I’m telling any of my visitors who are willing to read about it at http://www.casinogeek.net/spywarewarning.html
Anyone interested in getting a free version of lavasoft Ad-Aware, this is where to get it:

InactiveI am told that thiefware is a lot less effective these days and sales are way down.
There will be someone speaking on it in Vegas – no, it didn’t slip past me. It is called “contextual advertising” and there is benign contextual advertising also. I am not sure wether this talk will be on benign versions – but I don’t think so. If it is about spyware targeting search engine results it may be quite interesting.
I encourage people to sit in that section of the conference.
This post belongs in the scumware section where it will be visible a lot longer.
