Ever since Montana’s removal as the official dispute medation service for Real Time Gaming casinos, people are wondering what to do in case a casino does wrong. There is no option for players to involve a mediator with the power to “force” a casino “to do the right thing”.
Recent cases of closed RTG casinos, such as Luckygames.com or Hippojocasino.com, also show that players are left alone when RTG houses go bankrupt.
Basically there is no reference but to put “trust” in an operator, which however has already been broken by more than a dozen RTG casinos over the last several years. My question to Rushmore & Co. is: Will “Hastings” EVER take over the old job of Montana and thereby make RTG a trustworthy enterprise again?
March 24, 2008 at 9:31 pm #764067vladcizsolMemberTribun an overview system for RTG operators would greatly boost player confidence and is a great idea.
BUT if it does get formed it has to be supported by all.
When Montana was active it was bombarded by the same negative minority that are haranguing eCogra to this day. Nothing will ever be 100% satisfactory to all but when attempts are made we all need to get behind them instead of the endless nitpicking I see on player forums.
March 25, 2008 at 8:38 am #764092CaptainetteMemberThe problem with RTG is that they are not at least attempting anymore to please their players.
I know tons of gamblers myself and 95% of them stay away from RTG casinos because of the scary stories from most other RTG houses. As a caring online casino affiliate webmaster, it is impossible to fully recommend any RTG casino when there is no option for players to make sure the casinos have to honor their T&C’s.
March 25, 2008 at 10:53 am #764110AlnetMemberIn the current political climate for online gambling in the US, RTG has chosen to take the position of simply a software provider for casino operators.
This is perfectly understandable.
The creator of a software does not have an obligation to arbitrate disputes between operators of that software and end-users.
However, Rushmore Casino is a licensed online casino licensed in Curacao. Any player that feels that they we were not providing honest gambling is more than welcome to contact the gambling authorities of Curacao to arbitrate any dispute.
This said, one should consider an RTG casino more than just “an RTG casino”, as RTG is simply the software the casino is based on. In this current political climate for online gambling in the US, each casino should considered for its own merits, Customer Service, etc.
This is where affiliates have become much more relevant than ever.
If you concerned with the quality of service and honesty your players are receiving, take it upon yourself to actually be what they expect you to be, a reviewer of online casinos. Test the games, check out the support, deposit, withdraw, etc. This is the best way to know your players are in good hands. That’s all I have to say on that subject. :hattip:

March 25, 2008 at 12:36 pm #764123vladcizsolMemberWell said Gabriel and you do bring up valid points.
I guess this could be extended to anyone who uses frontpage or dream weaver to design their websites. Do we hold Microsoft or Macromedia responsible for whatever sites their software is used to create?
Worth pondering…
March 25, 2008 at 1:00 pm #764127CaptainetteMemberThanks for your input, Gabriel.
I am not trying to say your casino is bad, nor do I actually think so. I just know that many other RTG casinos also had good reputations in the past and then disappeared from one day to another. Bet on Sports, Luckygames, The Casino Online, etc. are only few sad examples of what happens when an RTG casino goes bankrupt.
I have personally played at hundreds of different online casinos myself over the last several years and can review them in any imaginable detail. I just know that there is nothing I nor anyone else could do with RTG when problems come up again.
If you want to compare software providers it is better to compare them to other competitors, rather than Microsoft.
Boss Media, Cryptologic, Microgaming, Grand Virtual, etc. simply almost never cause such problems, and when they do, they usually clean up their mess decently. Only Playtech is another example of similar carelessness about who they give their software to.Anyway, any webmaster is of course free to make its own decissions, but I thought to post my point of view over here.
May 4, 2008 at 9:13 am #767222CaptainetteMemberUpdate:
I was told from a couple other RTG based casino manager that their software provider is currently working on a dispute resolution program and intends to bring it up sooner or later in 2008.
I have heard similar rumour already over the last couple years, but this time it sounds really promising.
We shall see how this software provider is trying to clean up its mud.May 22, 2008 at 9:01 am #768283CaptainetteMemberIt looks as if my contacts were right. –This site looks very much like the new result of RTG to offer dispute mediation. It completely looks like the old Montana form and has all the current RTG casinos listed.
Let’s see what will be next.
May 24, 2008 at 2:42 pm #768439AnonymousGuestHi all (T),
Trib, … I just got thru finishing an article i sent out and 3 pages, 2 devoted directly to your situation on my website and I come in and see this thread.
…. I thought … here we go again.
-________________________
I completely understand what Trib’s saying and its very much a shame that we as human beings tend to associate areas that have no real association short of some small part of common ground …. but that is how it works.
And listing RTG casinos does just what Trib said: makes us look bad to anybody in the know.
Trib all but said that if he saw a portal listing RTG casinos that he wouldn’t trust that site’s judgement based on his past experience and that of others with whom he has heard bad press about RTG casinos.
And he’d be right. I mentioned this to another member a short while ago about an aff site they created, when I visited it … it had Cpays on it and several other places I wouldn’t recommend to somebody I don’t like, let alone valued surfers. I told that person that if I had went there and saw that site recommending those places I wouldn’t trust it to leave my email let alone start listing casinos based on that site’s recommendations.
Of course not all the places he listed were bad. Vast majority were good but by seeing that one or two places on there which I know are trouble …
and its the same for RTG.
May 24, 2008 at 2:45 pm #768440AnonymousGuestI’d like to add that RTG could pull it out of the fire … amazingly.
The software is likeable by many and I would guess that’s what has kept it afloat as long as it has been around. It sure isn’t because of the overwhelming amount of reputable casinos it has born.
May 24, 2008 at 3:17 pm #768442LucretiaMembercan not convert rtg anymore, maybe because rtg is too much a hot topic at several formus I visit. I do not say I think they are all bad.
The other thing is that the hampering payments processers issue a short while ago sure did not help to build some trust.
But as long as webmasters – who obviously do not care what they promote – push the rtg’s casinomeister does not “recommend” the story will be continued for sure.
May 24, 2008 at 8:09 pm #768450CaptainetteMemberCurrently the biggest problem is that many RTG Casinos caused lots of anger and trouble among unpaid player over the last couple years. If RTG wants to restore any credibility, they will have to clean up their mess and then make sure it does not happen again.
-Needless to say, of course that is not going to happen, as the last nine years of experience with them taught me.I am however still thrilled to see how CDS is going to perform.
