InactiveI personally don’t like the black background,
it makes it look like spam. (sorry, it’s only my humble opinion)
Change this and take the table borders away and I think
it will look a lot better already!succes!

InactiveOk, lets start from the top

Your website is currently lacking doctype, which is very important. if you choose the most forgiving doctype html 4.01 transitional, then your website have 104 errors according to W3.org’s HTML validator.
You have added several stylesheet declarations directly into the page instead of linking to one CSS file remotely and for some reason you have a < /center> in the middle of one of them (?!).
Your layout is flat and your choice of colors are to full of contrast to be attractive. A black background brings thoughts to something dark and brooding, which most people associate with shady operations and foul play. Not really the emotions you wish to evoke.
Instead of using tables you should make a nice layout. A simple layout is very easy to do in photoshop or you can purchase a ready made professional template for around $50. What you have now look a bit…80’s

You have a good start, but it can be much improved. Good luck and best wishes on your project

InactiveEmeraldAce,
A great template does wonders for a site.
Though, I don’t see the point in gravity using a template, as they aren’t that easy to use (that’s if you don’t know what your doing). Most of these, these days, require at least Dreamweaver and Photoshop/Fireworks, if not some that need Flash too. However, I’m of the opinion (please correct me if I’m wrong gravity) that your still on a learning curve in regard to html.
Seeing gravity has even basis errors, I’m thinking he’s not got these dev tools. (sorry about speaking in third party here).
Personally instead of getting all fancy, I’d suggest a basic layout. Something you can simply change and alter.
I’d be interested in knowing how your writing your code?
What proggy are you using now?
What proggy your comfortable with and what is your level of html skill?
Do you know how to use CSS (cascading style sheet)?
Hope you don’t mind me asking, I’d like to try and help.
Cheers

I’ve got the errors on the index page down to 22. Of course it has altered the look of the page quite abit.
Yes, I am still on a learning curve with HTML.
“I’d be interested in knowing how your writing your code?” Actually what I used is remnants of a template I had for a previous site. Cant remember where it came from. What proggy are you using now? Not sure what that means.
What proggy your comfortable with and what is your level of html skill? HTML skill is mimimal at best.
Do you know how to use CSS (cascading style sheet)? No, I am trying to figure it out though.
I dont mind answering the questions all. Thanks for taking the time to respond to this thread.June 26, 2006 at 10:38 pm #696807Anonymous
Inactivegravity,
proggy = program. In my case I use Dreamweaver.
Are you just using note pad to edit your HTML or are using something else, if so what?
IMO I think you might have better luck with sticking to something basic (as in layout).
I’m even happy to help you out with a basic layout & css to start you out, if that would help?
Just need to know if you want a two column or three column template. Background color and anything else you want…
Let me know.
Cheers

InactiveI’m using notepad.
I would be looking for a two column template with either a background color of either #990000 or an emerald or forest green. Would be happy with either. Thanks,June 26, 2006 at 11:09 pm #696814Anonymous
