And Lawrence is leaving I believe. He managed to always have an ear for our concerns.

Lawrence, unfortunately, is one of the biggest problems Referback has. He is a bullshitter. He doesn’t always answer support requests promptly, sometimes not at all. And he has no bloody clue what his own people are doing.

He is no longer my aff manager so it will not affect me – but I think you might do well to get a new one who at least listens to what is being said.

    Hi,

IMHO ; the fact of the matter is that they were once three steps from being atop the mountain looking down; with a firm foothold to boot.

Then the bullshit started. IMHO that was why / shortly before Jon-Jon left. Say what you want to about him; I personally felt that he practically was 98% of the reason that RB had climbed to the heights it was reaching , or about to reach.

when I couldn’t get a damn answer from my aff manager; I’d email J-J. He always replied, though somtimes not for a week (but that was fast in comparison).

He took my rantings as I am sometimes apt to do towards a program that I have “issues” with.

And most important; he saw to it that my players were taken care of.

Now I feel I have little if any recourse with RB/its casinos ; and if a player had a problem; who the hell am I gonna go to get it addressed with the proper attention deserved?

you can bet by the time the problem reaches my lap; it’s already been run by the casino support at least once and usually more.

so there’s where I am at in respect to RB.

I haven’t given up total hope; but I’m afraid to jump in with both feet as well.

Relationships with managers are personal. They should not be, but they are.

Some will always get along splendidly with one manager and others will not click with them.

Jon Jon was very popular, but I understand that there are some very unsavory stories in circulation.

I have never had trouble getting listened to at referback – but action is another story.

I think they grew too arrogant. You can’t ever sit there and say : “I am the biggest and the best. I don’t need to concern myself with all these little annoying people”.

These little annoying people grow big themselves sometimes and arrogance never pays.

Well who does? heh not many least not in my experience. Heck been trying to contact slots.com now for 3 weeks. Several times I went a month trying to get ahold of FL and CR does the same.

“He is no longer my aff manager “

Ive noticed that if you bitch at one they usually pass you onto the next or something like that … be nice to know how these programs determine who is in whos crew so-to-speak.

Id assume its based on performance, but I dont like to assume heh!

I don’t know about you, but more than 48 hours is totally unacceptable. I automatically follow up after 48 hours… if no response, chances are that group is history as far as I’m concerned.

Lawrence took 3 years of stick from me before he finally gave up, to his credit… but he was simply incompetent.

Oh! Don’t get me started on Referback.
    Here’s my stats:

    Number of visits: 1,617
    Number of downloads: 118
    Number of Guest accounts: 22
    Number of Real accounts: 5
Number of new Real accounts Purchasing: 1
Total number of purchasing accounts: 1

    Total Income: 60 Cents !!!!

LMOA as I boot ’em out into the street.

It’s so lame you have to laugh!

And, of course, spamming is a serious matter, brings the whole neighborhood down.

    Lol!!!

That is exactly what mine used to look like.

The emphasis is on “used to”.

Now I just occasionally include their poker. And that is nothing to write home about.

Yes I always do a follow-up after 48-72hrs … after that I have to start considering that the program is DISHONEST! I dont know how I draw that conclusion, but I do …

Specially after 2,3,4+ attempts at getting support … if they totally ignore me – they are CROOKS in my book!

It equally pisses be off when I am moved back and forth from one rep to the next! That also is quite fishy!

DAMN why cant they all just be honest – hell theres plenty to go around no need to be freaking greedy! GRRRRRRRR

We promote only their poker and possibly on a few forgotten pages the casinos.

Poker we do ok at and no problems so far plus a good deal (due to lawrence) BUT I agree RB overall had succumbed quite a while ago to the superman syndrome and forgotten about kryptonite…

5 (6?) years ago they were THE aff program and are suffering a bit of that 70’s show take a toke and wow we are great thing.

Lawrence was always ok by me but can understand a difference of opinion on that quite fine…

Is there any correllation between the now affiliates turned aff managers and better communication/service? I mean, I know a few myself and one would think that would be a good grounding (as a previous aff) as a manager?

    Interested in opinions.

Are you asking if there would be more trust towards an affiliate turned aff manager?

I think that still comes down to personal relationships, and also which program.

Some managers have a lot of power over operations and some have none. And everything in between.

So I find that question hard to answer.

“Last warning” and a fine was what they said to the affiliate – of course the fine wasn’t disclosed and I do not believe in fining affiliates.

So I will just patiently wait for the next spam to arrive, as I know it will, because I have insisted that there must be no next time.

Certainly not getting Referback in my good graces any time soon… yet the other programs are starting to explode income-wise :)

Not necessarily trust, but a former aff would have a better grasp of the problems affs experience.

I guess that was prompted by a few experiences with people that have no clue as to what an affiliate actually does….you know, the ones that give you updates the day before and expect them to miraculously appear on all your sites by magic. ;)

Re. referback: they keep people sending players by just paying them a set amount monthly. They sift all the good players off the top, but carry affs through bad months.

That is, if your traffic is good enough to where they can sift enough good players to be happy.

If that is what one wants, a media buy in disguise and the amount paid at their discretion, they are fine to promote.

This is what I arrived at after talking in private about referback with a whole lot of people, all with the same experience. Not just larger affs, small ones also.

They are spammy and scummy to boot. To give them credit – it appears they finally got the IE6 cookie compatibility issue fixed.

    re. aff managers:

I think the mystery goes both ways. That is because the authority and freedom to make decisions varies widely from program to program.

A lot of managers are however even encouraged by their employers to put up a portal or two and to try their hand at being an aff. Supposedly that is a part of training. I call it conflict of interest and temptation to steal players.
