It seems like Microgaming have decided their licencees shouldn’t take US residents from states where online gambling is illegal. They all seem to be sending out notices. Just not to us!

Yeap they are not sending anything to the affiliates and not even letting us know if we live in one of those states if we can still have an affiliate account!!

This is likely a ruling from the licencing jurisdictions.

They were not expected to rule until next week, but if casinos want to retain licence to operate, they have to comply immediately.

This is a FAR more sensible approach then banning all US players and is probably prudent given the current legal enviroment.

If all the other operators who jumped ship on us followed this approach we would be far better off.

A quick check shows these states to have approx 25% of the US population. Some of the richer ones too..

Yes, it is a smart decision. It would have been even smarter if they had been using it years ago as the laws went into affect. They’ve had no problem up until now accepting players from those states, now they want to portray themselves as being responsible.

eCOGRA and others hould have had them turning away those states long ago. If the casinos and sportsbooks had been honoring those laws we probably would be in as much political hot fire; as states like Lousiana wouldnt have issued all those warrants because they wouldnt have been able to bait the hook they would have been turned away at the bend!

    Hi Prof / Admin

Just wanted to know why my posts are being deleted? Surely there are other people who find it suspicious that Microgaming doesnt want the list of banned states published? Or am I missing something?

My previous post was in jest, I can’t see what the problem is?

Sorry, I have no knowledge of this post, must have happened after I got offline.

The professor is on vacation and only drops in occasionally, has bad connection.

There were no posts deleted. I believe Justred was thinking about posts made in another thread about Vegas Partner. That post is still there.

It was an honest mistake. It’s easy to do when the boards are busy and you are posting in several areas.

    Hi there all,

The decision to address allowing players from ‘hot states’ to play was obviously not an easy one – we love cabbage too!

Although not an ideal situation to be in we did feel it was best for all of us in the long run.

As far affiliates living in those states – the law targets online transactions for placing wagers, we don’t see affiliate payments falling into that category. Worst case scenario you could always get a Click2Pay account ;)
