InactiveI don’t know the answer, however I think to have a page like that, you should have a lot more facts, instead of just a brief paragraph listing the issue. I mean, for example your first one:
“Money was sent with the promise of doubling or tripling the initial deposit. The customer never saw a penny of his/her money.”
I want to know more than that. How was money sent? Who is this customer? When did this happen? What actions were taken by the customer? There are just so many questions there. How was the customers claim verified? (So that they weren’t just badmouthing the casino)
If I was going to run a section like that I’d make it a lot more detailed, otherwise I’d get rid of it. It would be too easy for it to be viewed as slander

Yea, I also though about that cause the guy is not offering to much information and keeps being repeated for some of the reviews.
I’ve been trying to get more information regarding casino black list reviews. To tell you guys a secret, I’m 100% sure this is newsworthy for a proper launch success.
Anyone know were to look for players complaining of such sites or other gambling sites that have been negligent?
I’ve some huge ideas for this, however, I’m still running in doubt that if my page gets 50,000-100,000 page views in a matter of 24-48hrs…I might get sued from such companies for reviewing such gambling statements.

InactiveYou said:

By quote you mean, gambling casinos can take action on me for this or yes, I can do this?
Ok here is the little secret, well mystery that is:
Can you imagine running a Press Release with a headline writting with the following words:
“Online Gambling Training Center Releases 2006 Online Casino Black List”
P.S-My concern is, since I will of course be doing a paid press release through pr web and newsfeeds…the probability of many of those casinos taking action or in fact NOT liking it and getting my press released down…is high. Other casino press releases are very boring, was looking to spark out some newsworthy attention. But still in a battle for the search of such blacklist facts!

InactiveYou can publish a blacklist, and you can give your opinion. It becomes slander and/or libel when you represent it as fact, and can’t prove it

vladcizsolMemberDamian I hate to disagree but Judges seldom laugh anyone out of court. They generally take slander and libel seriously and even if you do prevail the cost to defend yourself can run into the tens of thousands of dollars.
Joaquin for legal advice its always best to consult an attorney and not rely on the oppinions of webmasters. There are Legal sites and online business law specialists who could provide you with accurate information on this.
Its fun to kick these things around amongst ourselves for discussion, but thats not a subsitute for legal counsel.

Yes, you are definitely right. I just wanted to read your opinions in this regards and check if there has been any recent trouble regarding casinos -vs-affiliates.
sneaky.gif And for best, with a casino affiliate site and online gambling promotion still NOT legalized in U.S and US territories…I should lay low and stay under the radar with such press releases.
Will do a regular press release, however, without adding such blacklist information.

InactiveDamian you get sued 3 times a year? That has to just hurt your quality of life and piece of mind. You live in the states right? Only in the states can people get sued so much.

People love to sue in Los angeles for all kinds of mess. I will keep talking crap and backing it up until my maker calls me up.
And I though Puerto Rico was an histercal lawsuit point.
LOL.

Guestwell I view it as being that I have the right to blacklist any casino I see fit on my site; as long as I don’t slander it.
What unqualities it takes to make my blacklist are my own to decide. If I decide to blacklist casinos because they send too much email then that’s my right, as long as I don’t accuse them of something I can’t prove.
so ultimately its in the wording.
ps.
you must remember people go to your site because they are trusting your judgement. Not anybody else’s. So IMHO it is perfectly just to be able to make your own blacklist; simply put up a disclaimer that states something to the effect of “this is of my own opinion that you will be not be happy when playing at these establishments for my own various reasons and thus they have made my blacklist”.

InactiveComments are only slanderous if they are not true. Speak the truth and there is nothing to worry about. As BB1 says, it’s all in the wording.

InactiveI have had a “No Integrity” section on my site forever…
I have been threatened many times, and only ONE time was it ever really
serious… from Tradal… more specifically Yossi Pereg… who actually wrote he was suing me for $2,000,000 and stated he had paper work all drawn-up and ready to go.I told him to go make love to a goat (I was a bit more expressive, though  ) but the page wasn’t changing. Then I put him on the defense and said to contact my lawyer via his lawyer and that any further contact would be considered harrassment…
Didn’t hear from him again… and no, no paperwork ever arrived. :la-de-da:

Spot on. Never write something that you cannot prove.
