That would depend on how well ranked your preferred search terms are with the old page. If they are good rankings, just forward from the front page after 5 seconds… and for the old pages redirect them right away (unless they too have good rankings).
If you are not ranked where you want to be, remove your old pages and use a 404 redirect to get people to the new pages.
