    that’s about the point where sister lateetsiah told me that the bible contains a lot of stories that help us try to understand god, and the world around us. and to not take it literally.

    i think that was october of first grade. holy crap, i can even see the classroom. up the first set of steps, first door on the right.

    she also told us that jesus taught in parables, so get used to the idea of stories that convey a message, and don’t be thinking that every story you find in the bible is some absolute true account of history, or you’ll miss the point.

    if you’re looking to keep things fundamentalist, i am not going to be of any help.

    to be truthful … i learn as much from this children’s version of the bible as they do. . …. but i figure ….. at least I’m tryin’.
