InactivePoker rake is taken from each hand that a player takes part in.
A poker room does not care or profit if a player wins or loses – all they want is for players to take part in a hand.
Basically, rake works like this :
The Poker Site take something like 3-5% from the pot in the middle when a hand reaches the flop. Most sites will also have an upper limit and will take no more about $3 from any one pot.
The “rake” is then split betwen all the players who were active in the hand.
So it’s not easy to tell you how much you should get if a player loses $1000.
Scenario One :
The player loses $1000 in one hand – with 3 players taking part.
The total rake is $3, and your players share is $1.
At 20% of rake you will earn just 20 cents.Scenario Two :
You player is a good player playing $5/$10 no-limit.He plays for 8 hours -with around 90 hands per hour – (720 total) – and goes into about 20% of them (144 hands)
That’s 144 hands at an average total rake of $2.00 and he was usually in with 2-3 others -so he’s credited with 340% of the rake.
144 * 2.00 * 0.40 * 0.20 = $23 total rake attributable to this player.
================================
So GamePhoto unlike casinos – the amount that a player won or lost has no effect on your share – and indeed you are much betrer off if you can find winning players as they will return to play again and again.
My calculations are both guesstimates – and you could come up with many more scenarios that might be higher or lower.
You should expect to receive more than Scenario One ($0.20) as that is surely the worst case … and if you received Scenario Two ($23.00) then that could be considered normal.
It really does depend on your player.
