vladcizsolMemberRandy the private forums are restricted to established affiliate webmasters. We dont allow access to casinos or their employees. The discussions that take place there are affiliate related issues that we would not necessarily wish to air in public.

InactiveSmart!
I was an account executive for hotels.com’s affiliate program for 3 years, so I’m pretty familiar with the other side of the industry, at least as it relates to travel. But I’m not allowed to promote travel, since I’m still employed there and it would be a conflict of interestes. I no longer work in affiliate marketing though.
I’m guessing that since the only two sites I have live only promote specific casinos, I don’t qualify as an established webmaster yet?
http://www.goldnuggetonlinecasino.com and http://www.goldenpalace-onlinecasino.com are both live, but only promote one casino each. http://www.geniusgambling.com should go live next month sometime.

vladcizsolMemberRandy I am worried about the domain
http://www.goldnuggetonlinecasino.com
Another member of ours is having trouble as detailed here:
11.25.03 (5:27 pm EST) – Mirage Resorts, parent company of the Golden Nugget hotel-casino, has filed a lawsuit against a company of unknown origin alleging cyber-squatting and trademark infringement. The federal lawsuit was filed Nov. 17 against YH Technology, which is a company Mirage Resorts officials believe is based in Australia, said the lawsuit. The lawsuit alleges that YH Technology’s website, http://www.goldnuggetcasino.net, infringes on the trademark rights of Mirage’s Golden Nugget hotel-casino in downtown Las Vegas. Although the website, http://www.goldnuggetcasino.net, was listed in the lawsuit, the website no longer exists and seems to have been replaced by http://www.24ktgoldcasino.com, which leads to Gold Nugget Online Casino.
You may want to look into this before Mirage Corp. contacts you….
Regarding private forums, yes, let us know when the other domains you have listed are live. Currently they are just parked at Godaddy. Once you have portals active we can consider access…

InactiveThanks for the heads-up about the cyber-squatting issue. I don’t promote Gold Nugget very much. I know that my wife wrote an ebook about eBay, and got a cease and desist from ebay for having “ebay” in her domain faster than you could say “lawsuit”.
I’ll look for that cease and desist letter from the Gold Nugget any day now!

InactiveHi,
What qualifications are needed for the private forum, plus where do you submit an application ?
Cheers

InactiveProfessor! You were right — I got notification from GoDaddy today that they’ve transfered the registration of that domain name to someone else — they also charged me $29 for having to deal with a court inquiry.
How irritating!

While losing the domain is annoying at least you didnt get sued…Actually I got served Wednesday night. Mirage Resorts Inc doesn’t play around.
I got them to agree to dismiss the suit against me provided I sign the domain over to them…
To be honest, it didn’t even occur to me that there might be a problem until you pointed it out to me Professor.
I’ve gotten a lot of value from this discussion board–thanks everybody…

InactiveI’m glad to hear you are finding CAP useful.

To answer one of your earlier questions, one of the criteria of whether one is admitted into the private forums is whether you post out here or not.
The purpose of the board is to exchange information. We like seeing active people, people who want to share their knowledge and experiences.
Everyone in the private forums is an active poster, and that is as it should be.

InactiveI’m going to build out a couple of my domain names over the next week or so, so I hope to be able to apply to membership in the private forums soon too.
Thanks for the feedback Dominique…

Inactivehttp://www.high-roller-casino-bonuses.net just went live today – can we consider me for membership in the private forums now, Professor?
Sorry to hear about the episode with the cat, BTW.
