InactiveThats a personal decision.
I don’t like programs that demand you have more than $200 to get paid. I think quite a few do ask for that much.
Playtechs are always asking me for space – and are willing to pay in advance. I just don’t like doing it because they don’t convert well for me, and I hate to take money for something I know I likely cannot deliver.
I try to give special spots to places I know will convert for me. That way everyone is happy and I don’t shoot hard earned visitors into outer space.
But – I bet if you take her offer you will be able to withdraw what is owed to you plus. So in that case, as long as you don’t displace a good earner, maybe try it for a month and get your money out. Then reevaluate.
But like I said – it’s a personal decision.

InactiveUnlike most affiliates here apparently, Playtech does convert well for me, and IOG has been a good program in terms of player retention. But, back on topic…
Yes, high minimum payouts suck. Acropolis is $500 I think, yet I added them recently. It may be a long time before I see the $50 or so I’ve earned there this month!
I can understand it from the program’s point of view. It is undoubtably expensive to manage many small payouts. And I bet with a high minimum payout, only a small portion of affiliates are ever paid at all. It seems like just another way to want to only work with the big fish in the affiliate world.
I put up with high minimums in many programs, but I agree that it is frustrating.

InactiveAcropolis has always paid me even when I had a $54 month
So – they may have a $500 holdback, but they don’t appear to make use of it.I may have to reconsider and talk with them about it, then. I guess it is not all bad. I just know that I get nearly zero conversions compared to MG casinos and all their aff programs pay me no matter how small the commission check.

InactiveIOG has a bunch of unfriendly clauses in their T&Cs. I actually negotiated my own set of T&Cs with them; I wouldn’t have promoted them otherwise. They agreed to all of my changes, except for the minimum payout — that stayed at $250. The explanation was that it would be too difficult for their accounting people to make a change for only one person.
Unfortunately, I still haven’t earned anything from IOG. Playtechs in general have done very poorly on my sites for the past 5 months. I don’t understand why — I was doing quite well with them in July/August/September. Then they all dried up. As if I was put on a list of people to shave, or something. Once in a while I’ll land a new player, but they don’t seem to stick around very long, and they don’t deposit very much.
The Acropolis minimum payout was discussed over here a while ago. If you use NETeller, the minimum payout shouldn’t be a problem.

InactiveA little off topic here, but there has been alot of crazy crap going on latley. I often think outside of the box, maybe travel down roads less travelled. How could we takin more seriously?
Several ideas entered my mind one of many was, BECOME A SUPER AFFILATE. Join forces and build a mega site that ranks in the top ten for every possible key term out there. Plow through the competition, do some T.V advertising ect…
Make the biggest website assign banners to specific people, put all our heads together and have the best content in town. Page after page of information we would no longer have to beg to remove scrapers, negotiate deals ect.. It would be so huge programs will be begging to have some add space. We offer them paid inclusion and a good rev plan maybe 40%. We all can contribute something and if we are all honest I think this idea would work. We would all link to the site our PR would be 9 and our traffic would rival that of the New York Times.
I would be interested in such a Idea. Tradal and his cronnies would be out. A dream maybe? greek39

That’s simple in idea – detailed in planning – and very very tough to administer my friend. Let me throw a few issues :
Different sites would send different levels of traffic and different quality of traffic. As with all co-operatives some members would do more work, put in more effort while others would coast along.
How do you plan to share out the revenue? How do you compensate for people involved in maintaining the supersite? How do you evaluate the value of each member?
What about accepting new members once we’ve been going? Do they immediately get an equal share of profits? Or only of new profit? How do you tell the difference?
Also worth considering is that fact that you are trying to bind together many independant affiliates who have actually chosen to be their own boss – and run their own sites. These people (including me) are probably difficult to work with at times …
:wink-winkLook – I’ll take part if it gets off the ground … but I see many, many stumbling blocks before it becomes a smooth running operation.

InactiveI agree Gooner lots of bugs in such an idea, but the leaverage it would create would be priceless. We would all have to agree on a percent share basis, regardless who does what.
The main goal at first would be the biggest and best Online Gambling Information site the net has ever seen. Perhaps a crazy idea but so was the “Spuce Goose” which turned out to be not so crazy.
I don’t know why but I have never been money driven, I am mostly driven by ideas, making a difference, doing something valuable, intrinsic values that sort of thing.
But anyway, your right not too many people would take to such an radical Idea its’ unfortunate. But what a opportunity it would present and the spin offs would be amazing. greek39

InactiveThis thread sure morphed into something completely unrelated

InactiveSorry about that kwblue sometimes a thread ends up at going in another direction.
This deal sounds very much like the ones I constantly receive, “we want better exposure and in turn we will increase you rev plan” I did say yes once and slapped them on my front page.I did increase my player base and revenue, but as for the deal? they didn’t honor it. You are the one with the site you set the terms and conditions based on your performance. Taking a tuff stand sometimes works. I would tell them no way, keep the rev plan at 25% and in the the future demand 35% and payment minimum of a lesser amount.
Tell them they are fortunate they are even on your site. greek39

InactiveGood idea Greek.
Here is what I did prior to reading your post:
Sent them an email stating that if they removed the $250 holdback and increased my percentage to 35% I would put them on my homepage (mainly because I like that casino – I have played there quite a few times
). However, if they cannot get rid of the ridiculous holdback $$$, then it wouldn’t be worth it for me.February 23, 2006 at 10:27 pm #684576Anonymous
InactiveGood to hear. Stand up a little and try not to take no for an answer. Just last week I received a email From Toronto, Canada offering a new labtop if I reinstated 888.com. Could have been a trick though I have alot of scrapers after me currently. So who knows, but you make the deal its your site and your hardwork. goodluck greek39
