Unfortunately we are quite used to the drill after last year….
Dennis caused minimal damage even where it landed. The rest of the state didnt even notice the additional rain as July is rainy season anyway.
The media really inflates the threat to boost ratings during these events. In Florida most structures built after 1990 are capable of withstanding 140mph winds. Yes, there will be some cosmetic damage and we do lose trees left and right, but its not like foreign countries where people live in shacks and even 50mph winds present a serious threat.
