Lets see what people estimate.

InactiveDepends on which PPC search engine you’re using and how much you’re willing to pay per click, among other things.
I think promoting Party Poker worldwide isn’t a bad idea, but I don’t have any actual data on that to base that on. I know that poker is popular in England, and from what I understand, Omaha in particular is popular there.

InactiveI recall Yariv Ron from Empire Poker stating in Las Vegas that most of their player base was US based.
I dont recall the exact number off the top of my head, but I want to say it was as high as 60-80% …
Also with all the PPC fraud going on I wouldnt place a great sum of money into it.

InactiveMatch your title link to the search terms you’re advertising on. You might need to run several ads. There’s also a code which will insert the words the searcher typed into your ad text dynamically, but the code varies from PPC to PPC.

I think that most(over 80%) of my player base is from US even though I have very good listnings on YahooUK. I think that the europeans are much more difficult to reach with affiliate sites as there is all ready so much known and legite brands that everyone whos gambling knows about – that is in europe of course. of course there is players who seek for new casinos, but those are mostly the wise guyes who only seek to exploit the casinos bonus offers. Perhaps there is a way to reach out to the euro players, but heck if I know what that is so if you think you know – please share

InactiveBeing from the UK myself, it doesn’t surprise me that the US has the largest poker market. A lot of US players tend to be brought up playing the game from their early years and it’s not the most popular game played over here.
As a kid the only gambling game I played was pontoon, a variation of blackjack. Poker just wasn’t on the cards! (Sorry couldn’t resist.)
I’d say that 95% of my friends wouldn’t know where to start playing poker although it started to be televised a few years ago on satellite so is slowly building up a loyal following.
The UK market, although fairly strong will never be close to the US.

InactiveI think the UK poker market is getting rapidly stronger, for example I have noticed a lot of print based poker adverts (mainly for pacific poker) in mens based magazines, these have only started appearing in the last few months.
I also post on a lot of UK based discussion forums and more and more people are posting about online poker rooms etc.October 31, 2004 at 10:21 pm #656945Anonymous
InactiveInteresting questions Too Bad, but there’s just no good place left for PPC spends in the US anymore though! ie. no place takes online poker/casino ads at the moment that is any good.

Hi,
Tovey is right on IMHO.

InactiveRight you are – the are on TV, but I really doubt if we could make money at it with just the rake split an affiliate makes. They have much higher margins being operators and TV advertising is _expensive_.

GuestOh I agree. I was just making the point that they are advertising on tv and yet we are in this situation….
