sukjo1MemberThis is welcome news. The PPA has quite a few friends down under here in Australia also. I’ll put my hand up to be an unofficial friend of the court. If CAP starts a Friends of CAP section, I’ll be a friend of that also. All the friend and friends references might be an indication of the popularity of social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.com … friend.

Poker Players Association Now “Friend of the Court”
July 17, 2009 (CAP Newswire) — The Poker Players Association (PPA) has been granted “Friend of the Court Status” in the online poker funds seizure case, Bluff Magazine’s Jennifer Newell reports today.
The case involves a San Diego-based online funds company called Account Services filing a motion to retrieve approximately $13 million in online poker winnings seized by the government last month. The PPA is now an active participate in the case, having asked to become a “friend of the court” in the legal filing.
Judge Jeffrey T. Miller granted the request in just a matter of days, “giving the PPA standing to file an amicus curiae brief by August 7, 2009, for the hearing to be held on August 21,” writes Newell.
