InactiveAnyone else coming?
We’re going to give it a few more minutes, but since there’s just two of us, we might go hunting a tourney.

InactiveI’d have been there if I knew how to play poker!
In high school and college everyone was playing strip poker . . I knew I’d lose, so I never wanted to play. :whoa: I wish I had just gone for it . . I might have wound up naked, but at least I would have learned how to play poker.
When I watch them play on TV it looks like a great game. I like games where you can match wits with your opponents . . rather than just pull a handle on a slot machine and watch the cherries line up.
What would be the best way for me to learn to play poker?

Simple – just PLAY.
And youd be surprised at how many slots and bingo players are playing online poker heh!

InactiveThanks Arkyt.
I just wouldn’t want to piss anyone off.
I know in Vegas people get really bent out of shape if someone sits down at a BJ table and plays like an idiot…splitting 10’s, etc. :madat:Most people will get up and leave the table and leave the nit wit to play by himself.
If I started playing poker stupidly, I wouldn’t want everyone to leave the table…then I wouldn’t have anyone to play with! :lookaroun

InactiveBlackjack players who get mad at other blackjack players for making mistakes are just misinformed. The other players’ decisions don’t affect their odds at all.
I prefer to play poker with people who are learning. Most good poker players do. The real trick is to make sure that when you’re learning you’re not playing above your bankroll.

InactiveThanks Randy,
Sorry for sort of invading your weekly poker game thread here....just really want to learn to play this game.

InactiveYou’re not invading at all!!! This is an open invitation to the community to come get to know each other at the poker table.
(I think tournaments are a great way to learn, because you get experience playing in so many different situations–shorthanded, differrent sized blinds, different sized stacks, etc…)

InactiveIn ring games I love playing with unknowledgeable players who place too much value on an ace or who will draw out on you chasing hands. It’s in tournament action where I hate seeing these inexperienced players because one suck out and you could be gone! In the ring game you let em suck out knowing the next time they chase odds are you will get your money back.
And if I was sitting to the left of a BJ player who wasnt paying attention, hit and got a card that would have given me 21 – I would be pretty irritated too. Since they removed that 10pt card from the game – my odds of getting one ARE in fact reduced. No?
Lady – our weekly games are totally for fun …
