Can somebody please recommend a tool to suggest alternative keywords?
I know wordtracker but am looking for freeware.I am using digitalpoint.com/tools.
Who can recommend some tool that is free and works well?
Try about this:
http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/
I have been using it for 2 years.

cobstersliceMemberYou can find a lot of free keyword suggestion tools. You should also look for ‘keyword research tools’.
Try using tools.seobook.com/general/keyword/ it’s one of the best web-based free toolsSeptember 18, 2007 at 12:51 pm #749100Anonymous
InactiveThe Google keyword tool and the Overture keyword tool are really the only keyword suggestion tools you should need, IMO. That and a little creativity. I don’t use keyword tools to decide what pages to write about anymore really. They’re only useful for estimating demand on a particular phrase, and they’re really not very good at that.

InactiveOverture doesn’t work properly. If enter “casino” or “online casino” it shows nothing. It’s strange

InactiveI think the Overture tool is useless. I’m pretty sure the search counts include people using the keyword search tool, that is: Webmasters. The counts are likely useless.
For example a couple years back, i entered ads for about 20 vioxx terms that supposedly had about 50-60,000 searches a month. After a month on the site, the impression (not clicks) stats for my ads, all on the first page of results was less than 1000 impressions for all the terms. So in a couple months they went from 60,000 searches to 1000? I don’t buy it. Is it possible that webmasters selling prescriptions might have searched 59,000 times for those terms? I think so.

GuestI use keyword analyzer … sorry can’t provide a link.
also can’t say how good it is …. other than it has seemingly helped me on non-gambling terms in using PPCs.
I hope I gave the right name. am doing this from memory as I’m too lazy to open it for a post. but i’m pretty sure the name is correct.
they are in direct competition with adwords analyzer but after viewing both . I chose keyword A over the other because it seemed to be more targeting PPC campaigns .. for what that’s worth.

supervinceMemberMost free keyword tools that I have used are worthless. The 2 best keyword tools in my opinion are wordtracker and keyword elite.

InactiveI would recommend AdWords as well. I assume you are most interested in keywords that people are searching for on the Google network, which is what the AdWords tool gives you. Overture gives you data from Yahoo, which is probably relative to Google, but who knows. I’ve never fully understood how WordTracker gets their data, but it is supposed to be more reliable than Overture data.
However, back to AdWords. You will need an AdWords account, so it would be good if you had a site outside of the gambling industry so that you can play around with the tool. You can play with any keyword terms you desire from within any AdWords account. The tool doesn’t give exact numbers, but rather a set of bar graphs that tell you the relative volume of the keyword, the competitiveness of the term (less appropriate for us since affiliate and online gambling advertising isn’t allowed), and one other very nice set of graphs that show you the seasonality of keywords (ie: the word “sportsbooks” is much more popular right now than it is in May).
And I should probably mention the tool is free to use. You can even setup an account for any website for free and never activate it.
