hendermaryMemberThe alert was a standard “Google Alert” that I set up to notify me…as far as I know, this indicates when Google actually crawls my site and notices a new article, no? So I figured it just took them 5 days to notice and index the new article… If my understanding is incorrect, someplease please fill me in.
Gamblingshares, what is “SM”? An xml sitemap? I’ve got that already… Also using Author Rank…
Any other ideas?

Also, what does it mean to “have articles that I post get pinged”? The only pingbacks I’m notified of are when I do internal links to old articles I write… Of course I’d love for other sites to link to my article, but how will they ever know about it if they can’t find it because Google fails to index it…
I also did everything I can from the “social end”, posting a link to the article on my Linkedin, Google+, Facebook, and Twitter profiles….
Sorry for the “stupid questions”…I’m much more of a content writer than an SEO or professional tech-end webmaster

wbprofitsMemberpinging alerts the Search Engines that your blog or website has been updated.
Social Marketing is twitter, FB, link in and the others
I sometimes use PingFarm | FREE Mass Ping Site To Ping Your URLs For More Backlinks for this in addition to the additional ping sites I have added to my wordpress or Joomla sites with Updated Services.
