Be careful Islandmaan. There are a ton of fake emails going around that LOOK like they come from Paypal or Citibank and they direct you to a login page. They are clones and are set up to capture your password when you attempt to login.

I get hit with these almost daily. I am unaware of a class action suit. I am not saying one doesnt exist or that the letter you received was a fake, but I am saying be VERY careful with mail regarding Paypal or any online banking. Phishing as its called is running rampant.

my thoughts exactly prof, that is why i posted here to get other opinions. I wanted to view the form to see what info they were trying to get on the claim form but it was not active.

Seems real enough, http://www.paypal.com/settlement .. I had my account locked by them a couple years ago because I was unable to provide “up to date” utility bills and such, because i was living in another bloody country. I have lots of complaints logged against them, wonder if I should apply.. unless its high 5 figures or so probably not worth the hassle.

It also did cause me problems because I had money in there I needed access to.

Yeah, this one is in fact quite real. :)

The funds set up for both the Dispute Resolution Claim and the Statutory Damage Claim are a million or two a piece, so how much each person could recieve is determined by how many people actually file a claim.

If you have a Dispute Resolution Claim you can file between two forms. The short form gets you $50. The long form gets you whatever is divided between all those who file a D.R. claim.

There are alot of people claiming on the Statutory Damage just because they happen to have an account open in the time period this suit is based around. I personally have never had a problem with Google so I’m soon to send them my information to exclude myself from the suit.
